BF3 and Graphics cards.

I would imagine if they want people to buy it they would make it more or less the same as BC2. most people who want to buy it day one wont want to be buying new graphics cards to max it. it the new engine thats making me think as it will be soo much diferent blowing stuff up using maybe more power

BF3 is running on an optimised version of the Frostbite engine used in BC2.

If you can run BC2 well, you will be able to run BF3 well.

I am going to make a decision at the time but have no concerns that my 5870 will be more than adequate.

aye same card as me,great card, will chomp through bf3 like butter;)

I can run BC2 just fine right now at max settings, not sure what frame rates I'm getting but it's super smooth to me so hopefully my GTX 460 will run BF3 at the highest settings without AA which is fine for me. I've been thinking about upgrading to a 6950 for a few weeks now but I guess there's no point doing that unless I really need too and the only game I can see challenging my GPU is BF3, can't think of any other games coming out in the next two years which I'm looking forward too!

dont know why people are panicking it will run on consoles so youll need a nvidia 7800gtx minimum damn i can even play bfbc2 on my onboard graphics :p

look how crysis 2 was and thats there pinnacle game.

if you can run bfbc2 good youll be more or less fine with bf3

there's no dx9 support, vista and dx10 are minimum, just because consoles can run it doesn't mean that a pc of similar spec will, heck them type of pc's couldn't even run bc2

-Optimized for the PC from the off
- Updated, not new engine

I currently have a 460 Cyclone OC'd to 900/1800/2200, getting 4k on 3dmark 11.

I'm hoping to run it max, 4 x msaa, 16x af but at a low res as I have a 19" monitor :)

i thought dice siad thar bf3 was being develop on the new frostbite engine, hence why their be better support for the pc as engine would design for pc from the go where engine used on bfbc2 was modded for pc use. and that they try to add mod support for the game in the new engine.

assuming my 5870 will run it fine then :d hopefully going to xfire it in a couple of months which will add a little bit more. all depends whether I opt for sandybridge.

BC2 ran fine with the smallest hint of slowdown during heavy smoke at full settings 1920x1200 and a bit of AA and AF on my old 1gb 4890.

I expect BF3 to look a lot better but my 6950 should be fine unless it is a crap port.

well who knows maybe they only have 30 fps with that 580 gtx in that demo could be ayet for single player but in multiplayer with all the spam and explosions so i would be not surprised if there would be high fps drops in action areas.

I just added another gtx470 in sli while they're cheap will it be physx? I use an old 9800 gt for my physix

huh? Does this game have physx? Have read the thing (maybe not carefully enough but did not see it mentioned so sorry if this is just me)

Some of the questions/answers were funny - a proper **** take on Call of Duty! Haha.
