Hiya, I've joined up just then and was wondering if anybody could help me spec a half-decent pc for around 600-650 pounds.

It'll be used for gaming such as WoW, Portal 2 and BF3 when it comes out.

AMD/Intel and ATI/Nvidia is no issue for me, I'm fine either way.

I'd quite like the rig to be upgradeable to crossfire/sli if possible but it's not a make or break thing for me.

Thanks,
Josh

Do you need a monitor or any other peripherals? If you want to play BF3 with high settings then you might want to purchase it closer to the release, as you would get better value for money.

I would advise you to wait for the new bulldozer chips to come out so you can pick-up a phenom II pretty cheap.

I have a keyboard, mouse and a monitor that runs at 1920x1080 so I just need the actually PC itself

If you don't have an os, and are connected in anyway with someone who is a student then checkout software4students. W7 home premium and office 2010 for ~£40 each.

Thanks for the great response guys, I think I'll have trouble deciding which spec though :D

If you want SLI/CF in future go for the MSI GD65 which reaper and stulid suggested, if not save money and go for the MSI C45 from RJC

I would be tempted to ignore Crossfire/sli thoughts, stick with a single powerful GPU and just replace it when it needs it.

So take what RJC specced, and maximize the graphics card.

With Stulid's build, would the PSU be enough to crossfire?

Not really, a XFX 650w would be ideal because it has more PCI-E connectors too.

fixed it for you... already cheap as is :D

I looked on software4students and there is a upgrade pack for 40 quid which will suit me nicely :D
I think it's gonna be RJC's build with a more powerful GPU,
thanks very much guys
