In a fridge, does the higher the number mean the colder it is?

mine is 1 unit = 10 degrees celcius - i keep mine on 10, saves boiling a kettle during the adverts
 
I always thought it was the temperature to set it to ie 1 = 1degrees, fridges are suppose to be kept at less than 5 degrees and the knob only goes to 5? :confused:

I guess this is where RTM comes in :eek:

Meh - i just keep mine at 3, keeps the milk fresh and with a tea addict for a wife thats all that matters :p
