OK, that's a great shot unfortunatley i'm having to google info.

That looks like the front panel but it's not got the orthodox labeling - could you take a shot of the lead that was stuck in it?

I could take an educated guess as it's part of the first block of 9 pins on the far right - but i don't want you jabbing randomly at pins...

I'm still googling...

I'm still searching for a definitive answer but i think it's the following pins marked in red (image yet to come) as this would follow the norm. But it's an OEM board and i always allow for sod's law - so i'm still checking.

However - you could just hook up the case header and see if it powers up from the case button.

Try the case header first - while i try and get definitive detail on your board.

That would be a lot easier would it not? What's the point of this if I could have done that in the first place?

Why don't you just trace the cable back to the power button, or even just see what colour the power button cable is. This way you'll know which pins to short.

It's obviously in a front panel block which will only fit on the board one way.

When faced with a 9 pin panel 1 header (in that configuration) the pins i marked usually are for the power header. I still can't find any info regarding your board... :/

Tbh I don't know where the cables go anymore, I hoped that photo would remind me.

Well done Coupe.

/smacks head on desk...

Just tracing back the wires to the power/reset switch will enable you to find which one is the front panel block.

What do you reckon Coupe?

Would you have marked the pins i did? (They seem the logical choice?..)

Could be, but tbh I'd have just gone gung ho with the screwdriver and tried the lot :D It's only a bunch of LEDs along with the power and reset switch afterall, what's the worst that can happen?

Sounds to me like the mainboards fried anyway :(
