Gaming mouse - Which one to choose?

I love my SteelSeries Ikari Laser. I loved the price even more. Found two in Currys for £30 each; got to the counter and they were £20 each. My brother nagged the second one off me, he liked mine that much :D

nice! Shop around, it's worth a trip sometimes. The purple brigade often do some 'gamer' oriented hardware, although most of the time it's only worthwhile if it's on a discount.

I'll second that. Shopping around can save you a lot of money.

I found a nice leather pouch for an HTC that fits my Acer Liquid perfectly, so I came home and had a look online - saved myself £9 :D

PC World do some great deals (yes, really...). When I was still gaming on a PS3, I found a couple of games in there for £5 each and bought them because I knew what the trade-in prices were at Asda - made £20 profit :D

Ive had my Deatheradder for nearly 3 years now and it still works a charm. Had to glue a few parts here and there but at least its on par with logitech :P

Still like my Razer Lachesis, but I'm not sure about the ExactMat - very occasionally I get really weird issues and have to run the mouse over another surface like my leg or the desk for a bit before it'll work properly again... :(

Looking for a new mouse myself, was considering the Mionix Naos 3200, looks nice but bit pricey for what it is so think I've settled on the Coolermaster CM Storm Inferno - have read number of reviews online but be interested to know the thoughts of anyone here who has one?

If you can, try to go to a shop and see how the various models you are considering feel in your hand. Depending on how you tend to hold your mouse (palm/claw grip), different shapes are likely to be more comfortable.

For what it's worth, I have both a Razer Naga and Logitech G500 in use for over 2 years and both have served me faultlessly.

Do also see if you can spare the cash for a decent mousemat (if you don't already have one of course).

DA Respawn for me, love it. Ditched a G500 for it and IMO its night and day. :)

I used to be a huge Logitech mouse fan until i tried the DA, Tried the Kone too, couldn't get on with it.

Figured I wouldn't make a new thread,

Question: Has anybody tried the SteelSeries Kinzu Optical Gaming Mouse, I have seen some very competitve prices for it and some good reviews can someone veryify if it has the same kind of performance as say a MX518?
(Btw I know it lacks buttons that doesn't matter)

+1 for Deathadder Respawn. Love mine to bits :D. Incredibly comfortable.

Extra buttons arent obtrusive, but placed well enough to be very useful and intuitive if you're used to the 3 button mouse.

The best mouse is one you are most comfortable with. It's better if you can go to a local pc store and try a few mice and then make a decision.

Hi all, the time has come to get a new mouse, there are 4 contenders.

#1 - Razer DeathAdder Respawn - £41.99 inc VAT
#2 - Roccat Kova+ - £45.98 inc VAT
#3 - Coolermaster Sentinel Advance - £43.98 inc VAT
#4 - Logitech G9x - £47.99 inc VAT

All are under the £50 mark and i don't really wish to go over that. what i am looking at i suppose is performance & durabiliy. I did buy a 2nd hand Razer DeathAdder from an auction site but in 1 week the left mouse button's microswitch died so with that i do have some slight reservations about razer's products. Never used a mouse from either roccat or Coolermaster and while i do trust logitech's equipment the G9x is something im on the fence about.

With any luck some of you will own / have owned one of those and could give me a few pointers as to what to go for.
Cheers

They're all overpriced and poor excuses for mice*, especially given the precision that gaming requires can be had for between £8 and £15.

A WMO or a IME 3.0 will offer a better experience for a much cheaper cost, but both have a problem that the scroll wheel up/down will randomly activate, thus being a nuisance if you use it for anything.

*Actually the deathadder is possibly the best mouse on the market overall, if upgraded with the right set of firmware. Still expensive though.

Thats only half true. Don't get me wrong, I spent quite some time playing a with crappy mice (copperhead) because I liked the shape, but when push comes to shove, a mouse is only as good as its sensor and since almost all new mice are based on gimmicks, and tend not to get it right with the consistency of the sensor, you're better off picking your favorite from a list not broken ones. Which takes me on to my next point:

This is a terrible mouse.

Unfortunately there aren't many stores around which stock the more interesting gaming mice like the CM Storm Inferno or Spawn which I'm interested in.

Will occassionally find a Razer or something in one of the massive pc/electrical chains but usually just a selection of pap from Microsoft or wireless Logitechs.

Will have to chance it and just return using the 7 day distance selling regs if no good I guess, shame OCUK don't sell them ;)
