iPhone 3G - 3G not working

Hi there,
The 3G on my mum's iPhone 3G isn't working.. it isn't a network problem as my iPhone 4 is fine on 3g (there both on the same network - orange )
I have tried turning it on and off several times, reinserting the sim, checking the settings are correct.
What else can I try? Is a visit to the Apple store in order?

Try restoring the phone on iTunes. Let the battery drain 100% and start charging?

She's already tried that - My dad's involved now and insists on ringing orange instead of listening to me, ah well more fool them. :rolleyes:

Try giving the restore a work. It can fix a range of problems.

Might be a sim card issue? I've seen two phones next to each other on the same network before where one can't connect to 3G etc where as the other can.
