Asus P8P67 + SSD

Hi, I'm having some problems getting my new system up and running with Windows 7 64bit (reboot at the end of setup which goes into a Windows restarted unexpectedly loop)

I've just upgraded to an Asus P8P67 with an OCZ Vertex 3 SSD and I wondered if anyone else had successfully got Windows 7 64 working with these components?

I suspect it's disk related - have used the driver from the mobo disk and also
downloaded a fresh one from the web (Intel port - Marvell turned off)

I've unplugged all hardware thats not essential.

I've read conflicting suggestions regarding the BIOS settings you should use for SSD drives and the P8P67. Can anyone help?

I have just acquired a 2nd video card to see if thats the problem (when I get home tonight) but am still interested in the best settings for this SSD.

Thanks

Paul

I have an Asus P8p67 paired up with a Corsair SSD on an intel port without problems I also am running Win 7 (64 bit) I have the Sata ports set to ACHI mode and the Marvel controller disabled, the only drivers I have used are the ones from the mobo disk.

Thanks for the speedy replies - I'm starting to think it might not be a disk controller issue - I'll post back when i've tested swapping out the video card.

cheers

Paul

There have been quite a few complaints of a similar nature about the Asus p67 boards.

I'm new around here so i don't have any details for you but i've been looking on these forums a lot lately to help decide my next upgrade. I've decided not to buy an Asus P67 board since i'd read so many complaints about them over the last couple weeks here.

Hopefully somebody with more information that can be more helpful will pop up in here, good luck fixing your problem.

The only real issue I've had with my Asus P8P67 (1401 Bios) was the pc not coming out of sleep mode if I overclocked the cpu. This has been fixed by setting "internal pll overvoltage" in the bios to disabled, never had the double booting problem others have had.

have u tried just using ssd drive with your os and unplug all other sata ports to see if drive is faulty. is it b2 or b3 board m8 also check boot options in bios

This is exactly what I'm getting. I can't wake it back up after sleep.

I had a problem with this mobo and Vertex 2E.

PC wouldn't boot properly. I've subsequently moved all of my hard-drives over to the 3GB/s ports - turns out my SSD wasn't didn't have the SATA cable fully pushed in but I had trouble even when I put Windows onto one of my other hard-drives. Think there's a problem with the 6GB/s ports on my mobo.

This is the only forum I've seen with such high complaints of the p8p67 boards. I have owned 2 1155 Asus boards and not had a single issue with either one. Pretty sure many of the problems are from user fail, not hardware fail.

I have the P8P67 Pro with a 240GB Vertex 3, on Windows 64 ultimate.

Might be worth noting, that the top 2 SATA ports use the Marvell controller, so will be slower than the second 2 slots.

Yip EVH is right about the sata ports.

And i disabled the Pll voltage and now it boots back up from sleep.

I have a intel 510 SSD 120gb drive running without any problems? it's in the intel ports.
