This isn't going to be the most constructive review ever, but I really don't have much good to say about it.

I've driven it all of 10 miles, the seats offer no support, the lower area of my back aches. And yes the seat is adjusted properly.

The steering is so light there's next to no feedback, the steering wheel is too large and the rack isn't fast enough.

The gearbox has no feeling, you push it into what feels like a gear and release the clutch in hope more than anything, everything feels just so light, the driving experience is none existent, like you're a passenger rather than the driver. I can see if this is all I had to drive I would go off driving rapidly.

It's not all doom and gloom however, the cabin is very light and airy and there are extra windows behind the wing mirrors in order to aid visibility. All round visibility isn't too bad either. Dashboard isn't bad, functional but nothing special. On the 10 mile journey from the garage I managed 49.5mpg without really trying, there's hardly any in-gear engine braking which helps you coast quite well.

You can tell car manufacturers have gone all eco-centric from the instruments, on the rev counter there's 2 lights, one to tell you when to change up and one to change down, there's also an eco light which illuminates when you're driving economically. Great.

It's also a very quiet car, the engine doesn't really make much noise and will rev to 7000rpm ish, I didn't get a good sensation of speed though and so entered corners a bit quick and it felt a bit roly poly, but a car more geared towards comfort and ease of use, that's not surprising.

So I really don't have much good to say about it, and my review may be a bit crap but there we go!

Indeed, I'm not sure why you're complaining about steering feedback, the steering rack ratio, gear feel and driving experience on a Honda Jazz.

No one that buys a Jazz (yes, I know about the K20 one(s) - irrelevant) cares about any of this stuff.

My grandad has a Honda Jazz.

He cares about comfort and MPGzzzz only.

This is the thing, the seats are terrible. I'm 27 and I get a bad back from them, hows an OAP going to cope?

Or is their back that bad they are past caring?

LOL I wouldn't know, his is an 08 model so not sure if there is any difference but he certianly is happy with it.

Different comfort needed?
Ford built and constructed suits** so the designers had a feeling of being like a pensioner with stiff joints and lack of mobility, guessing things may have moved on, but the point being is they needed to experience what it was like being old to design a car for them, alter seats etc.

**I can't remember when it was but I think the suits are now in a glasgow museum, or at least exhibited there for a bit.

Were you really expecting a sensation of speed from a Honda Jazz? :p

I had a Jazz for a day when the S was last in for work.

Gearbox is indeed like pushing a spoon around in a jar of jam. Was a shock getting back into the S2000 :D

Seeing as it's not much good for speed I've tested to see how many MPGZZZZ i can eak out.

Really don't get your review, it's an old persons car and you know it's an old persons car yet you've tested it against a set of criteria for a Civic type R! Don't get why you criticise the 'Eco Lights' you don't have to obey them and giving people an indication of when they should be changing gear etc to maximise fuel efficiency is surely a good idea in any car?

Does Honda's marketing buff say "A Car for Old People"? No.

I'm reviewing it for what it is.

There's so little feedback from anything, it almost feels unsafe.

Meh, your mpg is poor. I know an old couple that drive a 2008 1.4 civic and last time it was in the average was 57mpg for a 1.4 petrol that's amazing tbh.

And not all old people drive the Jazz. I had a man that was 71 years old in for an MOT on his black FN2 Type R. I swear I wanted to take pictures of him driving it and post it here but I didn't really like to. He said he liked the interior, and it was the only black one they had in at the time
Another of my customers is in his mid 60's and even has a toupe? (wig to cover the baldy bit) and his car collection would make half the people on here weak at the knees. Loves his 80/90's jap cars. Think 3000GT Twin turbo (he has 2) Supra, Soarer etc etc there's about 10 in total, i've not seen em all yet :D

There are only 2 points that need to be considered with cars like this, does it keep you dry? Is it faster than walking? If the answer to both of these is yes the car is a success.
