Bit of an easy choice most would think.....

I've got my current car (audi a3 black edition 2.0 tdi 170) on a PCP which I've had for just over a year. However I only do low miles and regret buying a diesel now as I prefer petrol.

I've had an A3 so don't want another one unless its an RS3 which is out of my price range (25k) max.

My PCP will allow me to have a car up to 24 months old.

I quite like the audi A1 and only need something fairly small as we have no children and a shih tzu dog! :D

I've priced it up and I could get a very nice brand spanking Audi A1 S Line with DRL's, Xenons, leather and pretty much every option going with the 1.4 tfsi 185bhp engine with the S tronic box which I love.

My other option is a Audi A5 which I really like the look of. However it would be obviously 18 / 24 months old although I could probably squeeze an s line 2ltr turbo. It would cost me more to get the A5 I think as its an older car although I've not looked in to it fully.

So my options are -Brand new fully kitted A1 or 2 year old semi kitted A5??

I cannot understand how you would end up with those two cars as your choice. What do you want, a coupe or a little citycar?

both are two completely different cars, You either want a little town car or a semi-luxo-barge?

Edit: beaten by the Fox :(

As I said I don't have any requirements for what the car must do.

I want something thats pretty quick, nice to look at and well built.

Both these to me sort of fill those requirements.

Most of the time I'll be the only person in the car, I do the odd journey from Birmingham to Lincoln but I'm sure both cars would do it with ease and in comfort.

Isnt it amazing how trivial choosing a car becomes when its just £x a month :/

I can't rationalise choosing between two so different cars :(

:D

Its not boiling down to the cost per month as they'll both be pretty similar I imagine.

I do think the A1 looks nice especially when it has a colour coded roof and the black styling package along with 18" S line alloys. Guessing performance wise its going to be similar to a polo gti just 6k more expensive!!

My cousin recently decided she wanted a new car and eventually settled on an Audi A1.
Then almost as she was about to buy one she decided that she liked the look of the TT and is now the owner of a brand new 2.0 TFSI Audi TT.

At the end of the day lots of people buying cars have no idea what they really want.

A5. All day long.

And not a 5 door/sportback/whatever marketing BS Audi use. They look like a dog curling a shorty.
