I will be purchasing a GTX 480 at some point soon after much deliberation.
Overall I think its the best choice for me with it being good value for money and I would see a performance gain which is all I want really oh and DX11.

Anyroad I am wanting to watercool it and have been looking at a few blocks but as I have not fitted a block since my GTX295 I am out of the loop a bit (pardon the pun).

Again I want something that is good bang for buck.

I saw this and noticed it is for sale elsewhere for £28.00, whats the deal and why so cheap?

I ended up buying two XSPC Razor GTX 480 blocks as there was another site selling them for £28.00 each.

They're not the best looking blocks but who cares for that price. They perfom pretty well too.

nice spot m8. Like you say not the best looking block in the world but at that price you can't go wrong. Looking at reviews its one of the best as well as it keeps the vrms cooler than most. Might have to order myself up a couple of these.

What rad are you using to cool them? I was thinking maybe a triple rad for the cards as I bet they add a bit of heat to the loop.

Well I currently a triple rad for my GTX 295 and CPU as they're on the same loop. I am only going to be getting one GTX 480 initially so I will stick that on the loop having removed the 295 ofc. When I do get the 2nd 480 I will maybe look at putting a second loop in. I have the 800D case so I am hoping I'll have the space. We'll see.

Great price on the xspc block, heres a roundup by skinnee of the 480 blocks :)

Yeah I did see that review prior to buying the blocks. Glad I bought two of them as there were only 10 in stock.

Instead of making a new thread, I just have a couple of Q's

1. If I was to install a second GTX 480 for SLi I am assuming it doesnt matter what brand? i.e an Asus one coupled with a MSI one lets say.

2. I am assuming the above waterblock will fit any GTX 480 as I have read stuff about reference design etc...

1. Any 480 will be fine to sli
2. Yes so long as it's reference design, you can always use the ek configurator to check http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/

According to that the Asus one I have ordered has a slightly different part number ENGTX480/G/2DI/1536MD5 compared to the one listed on EK's configurator tool which does not have the 'G' in it.

I have just purchased this : -
