if the Nazi's had won the war

The Man in the High Castle, by Philip K. Dick is also based in a world after Germany wins the Battle of Britian, Europe collapses under the Reich and North America is split between Germany Comtrolling the East and Japan controlling the West with the Rocky Mountains creating a dmz / buffer in between them.

We'd be ruled by another country IE Germany - Oh in a way we already are.

There'd probably be a lot less mass immigration in this country - no failed asylum seekers still here sponging off us.

More discipline - A cleaner country with cleaner people in it & a tight control on the amount of children people keep banging out.

Probably a much better place than it is now.

+1

In general, I think it would have been a very bad thing for most people. Aside from the continuation (and perhaps completion) of the Final Solution; many citizens would have lived in fear of stepping on people's toes (neighbours or other grudge-bearers could 'tip-off' the secret police about you, saying you were anti-Nazi and so on); much of the technological advancements would have been kept away from the public; there would have been no free speech, democratic elections or rights to protest; education and media would be propagandised and strictly controlled; I'm pretty sure everyone would be 'chipped' and tracked; the government and police forces would be riddled with nepotism and corruption; and sadly all those born with any kind of special needs would be 'disposed of'.

I would point to the situation in North Korea as a good example of what it would probably have been like today in the UK.

My mind is boggled by this sort of inane rubbish.

All restaurants would be serving sauerkraut, sausage, schnitzel and krapfen. We’d be drinking beer, schnapps and some fine Moselle wines. There would be no curry or smelly takeaways. Great!

Except that none of the above would be known to you as sadly, the Nazis would have banned the Daily Fail.

hitler would have been killed by his own generals etc at some point anyway though and i doubt it would be all gloom and doom like people imagine.

there is no wya hitler would have been ruler for long

As we all would be Germans the rush on holiday to get a sunbed would be immense

But the world cup would be good, as Germany would cover all of Europe, we would always win

His Generals wanted him killed because he killed so many of his own people, If it was all one way traffic for Germany I think it would've be a different story.

Making History by Stephen Fry also touches on it. It's about a plan to use a time travel device to prevent Hitler from ever reaching power, only a worse person takes his place. Sounds a bit clichéd but it's very well done. One of my favourite books.

You would have jets/crafts capable of mach speeds you could only dream of having.

Hitler and his top scientists were supposidly testing propulsion technology with a mix of advanced fuels.

Where do you think Project Auroura came from ;)

Maybe because you've been brainwashed by Leftwingism ? :P

Politics doesn't boil down to a choice between left wing liberal socialism and murdering everyone you don't like the look of, you know.

I am utterly baffled that on the one hand we have people going mental because some Muslims burnt some poppies, and on the other hand we have people saying that it would have been better if Hitler had won the war after all. WTF people.

You have to take into account the allies Germany had in the war. There were quite a few countries who were waiting and if the Nazi's started pushing enough they would gain more allies.

No, The Nazi's only started to admit people when they realised that they did not have enough manpower themselves. They wasted a huge manpower supply in the Crimea and similar parts of Russia by their ideology.

The Nazi's never had the total war mentality of the British and the Russians until it was too late. Trying too many things at the same time which diverted manpower from the fighting.

More importantly they lacked a strategic bomber with the range to hit the UK effectively or the Russian factories beyond the Urals.

The Gremans could not have won the war even if they had the Atom bomb first.
The Russians would never have surrendered.

Your totally right, it would not be better for us. In fact it's most likely you would never be a twinkle in your fathers eye.

Berlin would have been buldozed and rebuilt in the 50's.

Hitler was confident of winning World War II and planned to give Berlin a monumental makeover by 1950.

Hitler never liked Berlin. He saw it as a dirty, liberal-minded place and was disdainful of its leftist political leanings. But he had an idea for fixing it after World War II came to an end. His famous vision of Berlin for 1950 -- planned in detail by his architect, Albert Speer -- was a grand Fascist city called "Germania".

The Volkshalle, a gargantuan domed auditorium that Speer imagined rising over the River Spree. The Volkshalle dome would have risen 290 meters (951 feet) into the air, higher than some New York skyscrapers.

His Volkshalle was modelled on Hadrian's Pantheon in Rome, and in 1942 he said, "Berlin will be comparable as a world capital only to Egypt, Babylon or Rome. What is London or Paris in comparison?"
