Today is the day that my car officially went up for sale and I'm sad.

I've had this conversation with a few mates and most of us said that we grew attached to the big hunks of metal we call our cars, a few said "It's just a car innit..."

But to me the MR2 was so much more than just a car...innit.

I think what makes it even tougher is that I've moved from a nice 2 seater sports car to a diseasel hatchback...on days like today when it's all sunny and nice I just want to head out for a pootle round with the roof off.

What do you guys think, do you love your cars in a way that it would hurt you to see them go?

On the plus side...I do now have a pit bike that I can trailer around with my TDI POWAH! So it's not all tears and sniffles.

I enjoy driving my car but I certainly don't love it unfortunately. I'm keen to get rid

However that car your selling looks gorgeous :(

Car looks exceptionally tidy.

The ad itself is lacking any info on service history, mot or tax though :p

Definitely miss open top 2 seaters when the sun is out.

Nice care mate, it's a damn shame what you've moved onto! :(

Also being out of touch with MK2 prices, but yours looks like it's about £800 to dear surely? I know you price higher that you expect to get but even with the apparent condition of your car - immaculate - a NA Rev3 surely can't fetch that kind of price?

It's not a massive shame - I mean sure it's no sports car but it is getting me 60mpg and I can now lug my pit bike around so it's fun in different ways!

I've put it up at £2800 knowing people will try to knock the price down.

Well of course theres always practicality that get's in the way, oh and fuel prices. Bet it was still pretty good fun to drive with a fairly light weight body and the 3SGE producting 170/180bhp? Plenty of fun to be had there

Nice car. I was thinking about selling my mr2 recently as it's getting too old, but I'm going to keep it a bit longer now. At least until something expensive goes wrong.

Agreed, your car does look in very good condition but £2000 is really the top price for a rev 3 n/a. If you are not in a rush to sell it then I'd put it up for £2500 at the most.

Oh yeah, it was a blast to drive.

Yeah, well we'll see if I get any interest - if not I'll drop the price a smidge.

I know...I didn't even know that existed without pedals.

Good to see you've grown out of rice-mobiles OP.

Hardly. Looks standard other than a de-tango.

I miss my old Civic, but I've never loved a car, I think that's a bit weird - your mates are right in saying it's just a car.

I think it's only "not just a car" when it's something rare.

I see no badly sprayed side skirts, excessive rear wing or ginormous speakers... how is this a rice mobile? :S

Anyhow OP... nice car, like others have said though, a touch overpriced for what it is.

I'm thinking of getting a tubby for a track toy :)

Oh noes...I'm an interwebs faggot.

Taken on board the comments about the price - I'll give it a few days and see what happens. Failing that I'll swap it for some sour skittles?
