Hi guys please help me out to choose a mother board. I will have i5 2500k as my CPU (so i do wanna overclock), i mainly wanna use the pc for photoshop cs5, after effects and other hd video editing.

Ive been recommended:MSI P67A-C45, i have looked at some reviews on youtube and they gave good reviews for MSI P67A-GD65 and ASUS P8P67 Pro! Now im confused

The cheaper the better for me but dont want to really compromise too much on perfomance either!

MSI. Whichever flavour or price you prefer. I've had Asus. It was problematic. Not impressed (many have a different opinion though). Msi GD65 has been solid as a rock for me.

MSI P67 boards are very reliable.

Asus seem to have more problems.

The C45 should overclock pretty much the same as the GD65. You just need to make sure that the C45 isn't lacking in any features you need.

With a P67 board you'll need to have a graphics card as you can't use the built in GPU.

In about a week Z68 boards will be launched which will allow overclocking and use of the built in GPU. No information on pricing yet though.

+1 The MSI boards are great

also +1 for waiting a few days for Z68 to appear (May 11th from the last rumor I heard). Wait for these boards will offer you a lot more choice and may be a better option since you get the ability to overclock the CPU (great if you are doing CPU-heavy tasks) as well as use the integrated graphics (to save money by not having to buy a discrete one with a P67) and give you access to Intel Quick Sync - which is really amazing if you are doing video transcoding.

i love gigabyte ga-h55m-udh2!!!!!

:)

I'm sure its a nice board, but its LGA1156 and the OP is talking about a Sandy Bridge LGA 1155 CPU.

I just put together new setup based on MSI P67A-GD65 , same CPU as op, its fantastic, clocks easily, i got to 4 ghz just by changing multyplier, nothing else, its rock solid. I dont even dare to think how far it could go if i really set my mind to it

Thanks a lot guys, great help as always. Ill probably wait for Z68, if its too much ill go for one of the MSi motherboard.

Once again thanks for the great help
