That's not right.

What if there's three 'entities' involved? i.e. 40%, 35%, 25%. 40% is the majority.

True, but if 10 people have 25 things to choose from and 3 people choose the same thing and the other 7 people choose different things each then, by majority, the one three people picked is it.

Not as simple as that, if vote is split

Part a : 3
party b : 2
Party c : 2
Party d : 2
Party e : 1

Then 3 is in fact a relative majority, but agree thread should be. Closed, you have been shown this many many times.
