In which case I'll suggest The Godfather as the worst I've seen. (It's not but its one of the worst "popular" films i've seen.)

As a big fan of MST3K and Rifftrax I've seen hundreds of really bad films, including the legendary Manos: Hands of Fate, The Room and Birdemic: Shock and Terror. I don't really count those because they are acknowledged bad and the riifs add something entertaining. I would have to say the worst mainstream movie I actually went to the cinema to watch was probably The Bodyguard. I still want that time back so I can do something useful with it.

In the last 5 years, I'll agree with Jarhead. How anyone can turn the potential madness and (I imagine) adrenalin fueled exhilaration of war into something that has the excitement of watching grass grow and the pace of a dead dog is beyond me. Dire dire boring tardy direness of boredom.

Hot tub time machine for me. Forced myself to watch it as I'd paid for the rental. Mistake. Soon felt like gouging my eyes out.

Also was really disappointed with the league of extraordinary gentlemen recently. The premise was ridiculous, plot thin, but that would have all been fine if the acting wasn't so poor at the same time.
