Got paid today finally due to some hold up in work and I wana blow some money lol.

Currently got the following specs

i7 930 @ stock
Gigabyte ga-x58-usb3
Evga Gtx570
Corsair XM3 6g ddr3 1600mhz
1tb Samsung F3
LG Blu-ray burner
Dell U2311H.
Xigmatek Midgard Case

Whats the best thing I could get for my money thats fits the following criteria
1. around £100-150
2. Worth the price
3. Will have noticable difference.

Thinking an SSD but any other ideas would be sweet

Cheers forgot about the case.

Is Overclocking really worth it? Not really running into any slow-downs at all. Except in shogun 2 that is

Of course:) you don't even have to add much, from 2.8GHZ stock to a nice 3.5GHZ or anywhere near.

That monitor looks very slick but I just got my u2311h not too long ago.

As for overclocking would I really notice much difference?

So its currently nice heatsink such as the new antec AIO watercooler, or a nice SSD.

any other suggestions are great

As you mention, an SSD would be the single best upgrade for that price. this one is a good deal for the capacity.

however, here are a few other options:

got some nice speakers/headphones? that budget would get you a really nice little set for your aural pleasure. these are some really nice speakers.

go mad (like i did) and get a backlit mechanical keyboard like this. really nice for typing on.

get a nice cpu cooler - not only for overclocking, but low noise. so long as you are using low-profile ram, this cooler is excellent and a much better option that a captive water cooler imho (here is a review).

I'd go for an SSD

That cooler looks really nice, although I dont like the idea of putting all that weight onto my motherboard, and would that with 2 fans actually be quieter than my stock heatsink?

It may seem like it's too big- but these boards really can handle it. Also, its actually not much heavier than other large heatsinks like the TRUE - it's just that it's split into two towers and comes with two large, high quality fans attached that makes it look so big.

As for noise, the Silver Arrow is one of the best coolers out there for noise (due to it's massive, slow-spinning 140mm fans), and it will be quite a bit quieter than the stock intel i7 cooler - especially when the thermalright fans are running at the lower speed. Have a look at this chart.

The Silver Arrow performs very well against other heatsinks at this high speed fan setting, but for those chasing the low noise dragon the real sweet spot will be it's low noise 500RPM fan setting. With both fans spinning at 500RPM, noise output falls to an essentially silent 29.7 dBA according to our real world fan noise measurements.

Looks like its an SSD and or a heatsink to do abit of overclocking.

Now to decide which SSD and heatsink.

M4 looks good but 64gb mite be too small
