I think this review does them justice:

There are only certain occasions when a man can whole heartedly drop to his knees and cry like a little girl...
One of these is when a child is born, the other is when you plug in your Logitech Z-5500 speakers and listen to them for the first time!

Ive had them for over 4 years now and still wouldnt consider replacing them with anything else. I would suggest getting some spare fuses for them however.

I've got two sets, one in my room and using the other as part of the home cinema. Can't fault it at all, it's incredible that Logitech can make a unit of this quality. Hope they serve me well for years to come :)

I have the second gen ones and my fuses still go every 6 months. Must have a defect. Its a defect I can live with though :)

I've had mine for about 4 years. Got the control pod replaced right at the end of their 1 year warranty as the set kept blowing fuses and I've had zero problems since. My backlight dimmed to about 2/3 brightness 2 years ago (I thing part of the led array died) but that's actually a good thing imo and it's never gotten any worse.

Interesting that it was the control pod causing the issues rather than the amp circuitry in the sub.

Had mine around 4 years aswell, cant believe logitech are still knocking these out at more than I payed and they havent changed them at all.

A worthwhile purchase but I quite fancy a new soundcard as im sure my X-Fi is on its way out (bought at the same time).

190 from OcUK 3 years ago here. :D

Think they are dreadful for any 'crowded' music such as heavy metal but sound decent for electronic/trance stuff. Much prefer using headphones since I listen to the former mostly.

Great for games, watching TV and films though.

I've had my set a few years or so now which I got from OcUK when the price was quite a bit lower,to this day I am still amazed at times just how good the sound quality and bass response is ... they are worth £200 without a doubt ..!
