Phenom ii Overclocking

so in my screenshot, in HW monitor it is the top 2 values, CPU and Motherboard,0 and 1?

In that case, the cpu temp is usually a few degrees less than the core at load, and more than the core temps when idle. ATM my core temps are 29 and cpu temp is 31.

yeah it's easy really, motherboard temps will and should never get close to the range of cpu temps couple of degrees sure but more than 20 up or down, i'd be worried ;)

Pighardia, your Mobo went upto 37? are you running crossfire? what motherboard do you use, my mobo used to peak at 40 running crossfire ( 2nd pcie slot ran off the northbridge so i've read )

No crossfire atm, but will soon. Also i had my case fans on low. Problem with the Kuhler is that now i have moved one top exhaust fan as it doesn't fit. plus i had a floor intake but atm i have no screws to fit it so will have to get some more.
Airflow isn't great atm. Is 37 bad then, after Prime for a while

as far as motherboard temps go i really dont have much clue, my M4A79XTD-Evo hit 40c before when running crossfire and it worked fine so...... :S

lol yes you read wrong, 0 is cpu 1 is motherboard

motherboard temps dont really fluctuate like a cpu does heres my HWmonitor:

Umm, Ok... Not doubting you but...

TMPIN0 is 34
TMPIN1 is 23

Core temps are all at 29

Maybe I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing glue :)

you definitely seem to still be sniffing that glue... i have no clue what ur talking about. where u getting 29 from?

afaik tmpin0 is cpu socket temp, not cpu core temp, tmpin0 is mb temp

I have had to hook the Kuhler fan up to the controller on my case now. I can't hear it if i keep it on low, so i don't mind that. It's only a quick fix though. When i find my other Apache i will use them both on the Kuhler so that they can be controlled through the mobo.

CPU temps atm are around 30-32
mobo around 28-29. Need to sort out the airflow at some point, but it's not easy finding 200mm fans for this case and now that the Kuhler rad is there, it is also blocking the possibility of another top exhaust fan

Mate if you want a couple of 200mm fans I have three spare, as I don't need them now that I have water-cooled my phantom (click my sig for more info), trust me if you are interested :)

This is where I was getting the 29 from -

But has been said, those figures are not to be taken as gospel.

How did you get on with the supplied fans?
atm i have the one at the front, 2 side 120mm, and i have moved the 200mm which came with it to the front slot at the top.

I really think i need at least one more fan blowing air into the case, as the push/pull on the Kuhler is pulling from inside where there is not great airflow.
With the radiator where it is though, there is no room for the top/back 200mm and the side 200mm will probably be a bit of a squeeze:)

I think that the 2x120mm fans on the side panel probably don't do much without a floor intake fan, so i will probably put one there too.

Yeah, if you have the radiator at the back you will have no room for a side panel fan, but if you turn the rad 90 degrees, so that the tubing comes out of the rad next to the side panel, you can fit another 200mm fan in the top, that was what I was using before I went custom water. The only problem is the side panel won't fit at the top, you can only do the middle and bottom thumbscrews up

Oh and the floor intakes are for 140mm fans, I found this out when installing the bottom radiator :(

I did have a 120mm Apach fan as floor intake using cable ties;), which seemed to work ok. Probably the fan which made the most difference tbh.

I just need a way of getting more air in to the space where im pulling air through the radiator from. I might try changing the top exhaust the other way round as an intake. Or try and fit a 200mm side fan, but it looks like the NZXT that i already have is too thick:(

BTW, i don't think i will take that fan we were talking about, as i can't really fit it anywhere now thanks to the Kuhler
Thanks anyway though mate:)
