My daughter currently has this

And she wants to swap it for this

A CLK Cab, what you all think, i'l show her the reply later, i say its a waste of time.
 
Why does she want to swap?

Remember the CLK is an ancient thing - it's been out since 2002!

Wouldnt want to drop £24k on a 2 year old one!
 
The Merc is definitely more fashionable and at a guess that is what she cares about? I think she could do much much better though in terms of having a nice car.
 
At a guess, she probably just fancies a change and something that looks different? Has she mentioned any "car nerd" stuff like handling, brakes etc?
 
No she should not do the Swap.

If she wants a 4 seater Cab, look at the 3-Series BMW, Audi A4. They're much cheaper, 24k on a CLK, no thanks.

I said that because I wasn't thinking of an '09 plate one. I didn't think she would want one 2 years old as DM didn't say.

I cannot for the life of me understand why you dont just tell her to shut up, she's had this car all of what, a few months? You paid top whack for it from a BMW dealer an approved car, now you are going to trade into some independant for a discontinued Merc cab?

Buy her a 2002 one for £7k, its the same car!

DiamondMark, why not buy her a Porsche Boxster, they are half the price of a CLK*

This is were I was coming from. Get her the same model, just older. If she doesn't like it, she can always get rid of it.
 
see to fellas this concept of life cycles, speclevels etc.. makes perfect sense, to chicks its the colour and how new it is, end of

as such to maintain good relationships all round it's a no brainer
 
The only reason she aint in a Porsche now is because for love nor money i cant get anything insured for less than 7k and i just cant bring myself to waste 7k on insurance.

I dont think its worth the swap either i shall show her this later, but then its only 2k and shes been very good recently, and nearly finished colege :D
 
I'd say wait a couple of months/years until she can afford one with a proper sized engine.

I know its going to be mostly about style and/or having more space but a 1.8 engine in a car of that size is going to be sad.

£7K on Insurance. How old is she? Was the BMW her first car?
