Cat - Needs a home :(

Just a quick update. Neighbour has called to say a lady who replied to a note I put on works intranet picked Jinx up on Friday. He's going to the other side of Nottingham into a family who have a cat. Really good result.

He should be ok, he's lived with a dog and 3 kids next door for the last 3 years. It's a bitter sweet moment for us cause he's a lovely cat but him and Murray (ours) having been good mates as kittens had stared to scrap.

Nice, well done sir!

A good result with no pussyfooting around by the OP.

RSPCA and destroying animals seems to be a logic fail ?

My auntie adopted a female cat from them last year.

4 months later (back in late October), said cat gave birth to 5 kittens.

She rang the RSPCA to tell them about this, as the cat was supposed to have been spayed of course, to ask if they would take the kittens to rehome once they were weaned as a) she didn't want the kittens and b) it was the RSPCA's fault she'd ended up with them. (apparently they had gotten her mixed up with another similar-looking cat and had her down as being spayed when she wasnt )

The RSPCA lady apologised profusely on the phone and said she'd ring her back.

Rang back about half an hour later, and said, "sorry, we don't have any room for any more kittens. If you put them in a box and put them somewhere outside, where mum can't get to them, then they'll be dead within a few hours."

that's when I stopped donating.

Boils down to the same thing. Just because your not killing them directly, your still setting up the conditions for them to die. Glad she didnt take their advice.

The blatant hypocrisy of their behaviour really leaves a foul taste in my mouth.
