Hi Guys - I'm looking to replace the sharkoon golfs with another set of white fans for my PA120.3. These fans push allot of air but are rather noisy and with my Sandybridge build I don't really need the cooling power like I used to. I'm currently using Zalman ZM-MFC1 fan controller. Please note that my fans are mounted horizontally.

I belive my rad is best at around 1200RPM (given that I only have my 2600K in my loop) so I'm looking for some fans that are quiet, while pushing decent air at that speed.

I was looking at Zaward Golf 120mm x 25mm Fan - White as they are cheap. I also thought the Scythe Gentle Typhoons were worth a look but I was concerned about their reliability. Any thoughts guys?

Scyth GTs as you mentioned or Akasa Vipers.

Vipers are pretty bad-ass IMO. I use them on my PA120.3 and they push a tremendous amount of air at low RPMs and keep things nice and quiet.

Something like the Arctic Cooling Arctic F12 may suit you, pretty cheap as well.

The scythe GT's are fantastic on rads, tried and tested by a lot of watercoolers for years now but the grey blades are pretty uninspiring. Scythe should pull their finger out and start making them in different colours as the design is perfect for rads and they are still one of the best fans available. You could spray some GT's white though :)

Also noticed these beastly looking fans on my travels.

Any idea what CFM on those Zalman's? seems like I'm constantly collecting fans these days.

No idea i even searched for that specifically as i was curious myself but it's not even on zalmans site.

Why are you concerned about the reliability of GT's they are server fans and should be much more reliable than standard desktop fans.

Also I;m guessing you have the 2000rpm sharkoons I have used the 1000rpm ones in the past and even at full bore they are quiet. Why not also just invest in a fan controller and tone the ones you have down to about 700/800rpm you shouldn't here anything then:) EDIT :Ignore you have a fan controller.....

Strange how there noisy on a fan controller; maybe the bearings are drying up could add a spot of clipper oil may silence them without having to buy new ones.
