The first 27" 3D monitor has been released now, HN274HBMIIID is the code on other sites which I cannot name. Just thought I'd let people know since some have been waiting for 27" 3D monitors to come out and haven't seen a thread yet.

£479.99 with 3D built in, and Nvidia glasses too.

Selling tagline - 'The worlds first Nvidia 3D HDMI monitor - you can run everything from a single HDMI cable - no longer do you need a dual link DVI cable for Nvidia 3D when you use this monitor!'

This is my worry. They will drop dual link dvi in favour of the inferior hdmi 1.4.

£480 is a tough one to swallow considering I just picked up an LG W2363D + 3d vision kit for £220.

Gotta say though, coming from u2410 surround. 120hz screens are amazing.

£220

120Hz is lovely. My Asus VG236H bundle was £381 plus delivery. The price you pay for wanting 120Hz and being in need of a monitor when they've only just been released I guess :D

About bloody time ! :D

I'm going to need a very compelling reason not to order one tomorrow (compelling being, I would be mad not to wait a couple of weeks for brand/model X to arrive instead, where model is NOT a SA950).

It's just 2d 120hz I'm interested in to be honest. I mean, I'd try out the 3D once or twice just for the novelty factor but that would be it.
Do you know if I would be able to sell the glasses if I got the acer or are they tied to the monitor?

they should work with any 3D vision kit i reckon

The Samsung isn't 3D vision, dunno what it uses.

It uses an active shutter solution and processing similar to Samsung TVs - you can read a bit more about the Samsung situation here. Following on from the previous post - I would also advise people read the slightly negative review by Digital Versus here or our insightful summary here. Couple that with pretty mundane aesthetics (although this may actually be more to some people's tastes) and a healthy helping of matte anti-glare (no nice 'UltraClear' semi-gloss solution here) if you want some ammunition to stop you splashing that cash just yet.

Yeh it was reading that review which has made me hold off buying it, but speaking to Bloody over on 3D vision blog he says its a good step up from the GD245 I'm currently using.

I might wait and see if the Samsung ones can be used with a 3D vision kit. If they support 120hz, surely there must be a way.

Well I think waiting is a good thing even if you do eventually decide the Acer is for you. It also seems that user reports of the Acer are generally positive but it is difficult to ascertain what kind of monitors they have been using previously that they can compare to. I'm also staying optimistic regarding the whole Samsung and 3D Vision situation as it seems the article dismissing the support for 3D Vision is doing so on the assumption that lack of out of the box support = some kind of built-in forced incompatability.

The owners of the monitor in the thread seem happy enough. Sometimes that's just the need to justify the money spent on the kit by users, so it's good to be wary, but Vega's a responsible chap I've known around other (DCS) forums for some time, so his verdict is likely going to be good enough for me.

Yeh the user reviews seem good, some coming from the gd245 too. I might just go for it.
