Is the bible still relevant today?

Don't talk to me about watching your precious videos when you can't even be arsed to read the Bible before you post a thread about how irrelevant it is.

It wasnt even a video posted by me, it was actually a very brilliant hour long documentary on the history of astronomy and the universe.

I find it rather sad that you refuse to watch such a brilliant scientific documentary because I refuse to read the bible, and that you somehow think that the documentary is on some kind of equal footing with your bible LOL.

I'd really suggest that you take the time to watch it, it is a purely incredible documentary:

You stop arguing for once and watch this

Can you understand the question 'Is the bible still relevant today?'

Teaching what the bible says in Christian schools as factual is definitely a discussion based on that topic.

Yes I can and if you read my first post, I say it is due to it historical relevance. The bible contains many historical. Events that have been lost throughout the ages. Now what it says in the bible isn't how it happened. But it is explained in the way people of the time understood. Just like folklore.

As I said what do you want to discuss and you need to define it in each statement if you are going to switch.
There are many religious groups I don't agree with, teaching as science is one. But on the other hand there are lots of ideology I don't agree with either, it is not limited to religion.

what happened before god created Adam and Eve, why doesn't the bible or any other religious text tell us.

Why doesn't God explain who he is in any of this religious text as well.

He just gets straight to the point doesn't he and says.

BOOM worship me

So why you are you holding it up as an argument against Christianity?

Fair enough, maybe I jumped the gun in dismissing it, but if it's just a scientific documentary about the universe, what has it got to do with Christianity and how does it serve as a rebuttal thereof?

Yes, I believe that.

The angels are worshipping God in heaven, and occasionally popping down here to tend to things. I've no idea what Satan is up to, but it most certainly will involve tempting someone away from God.

LOL you think that Atheists are caused by Satan LOLOLOL!

And you have the nerve to call me a troll.

It doesn't matter what religion, because they all have retarded faults with them.

For example Islam says the world was round.

But then you get 72 virgin or fairy tale verses elsewhere.
It does depending on what you are. Trying to argue  you really are stupid. If you are going to argue points in the bible, at least know what the bible says.
And again I'm not religious, so what's the point of trying to attack with such a baseless argument.

And as I have already stated, many Historions have stated that the Bible is not historically accurate, and I would rather listen to their opinion than yours.

I don't think atheists are caused by Satan as such, no, but I do believe that Satan's only goal is to tempt people away from believing that they are saved from their sins by Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.

I'm not trolling when I say that, because I'm not fishing for arguments. You manifestly are, and have been since you started this thread. You've opened a thread for debate about something that you know next to nothing about. That's trolling.

That's like saying why doesn't a science book explain everything. Perhaps because it would be a million book epic and still not include everything.
Pointless silly arguments are pointless.

He starts where the book needs to start. And for what happens before it just says the universe ore existed.

My thread, not yours, made about a video I liked. I dont understand how I can troll my own thread, if you dont like it in here then feel free to stop posting.

I also clearly stated on the first page that this thread is not a serious debate thread, hence why it isnt in SC. Its a thread where I want people to be able to post whatever they want, and that includes you. But if you dont like it, then why stay?

John 1:3 says "Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." So there was nothing, until God made everything.

Well, pretty much, yeah. Who are you expecting him to say he is? He says numerous times that he's God, if that's any help to you.

You can troll a forum, you know? Not just a thread? The entire thread can be a troll.

Well, you've asked people to discuss it, and it's not like you don't know where it's going to go.

I can't understand in these threads is that time and time again most of what certain people are stating as facts regarding religions have been shown to be either wrong, or fundamentalism passed off as mainstream interpretations just to illicit a reaction.

Why then do those same people simply start another thread and repeat the same old nonsense, especially as the OP of this one actually had some potential, unfortunately it got completely hijacked, strangely by the OP himself it seems, which is a shame because the question posed "Is Christianity relevant in today's society?" is a good one.

Shame that some people simply cannot discuss a topic objectively or calmly.
