285 SLI what's up :-(

Hi all,

I'm a little confused, I've got an I7 @4ghz 6gb ram etc etc, I'm running 2 identical 285's in SLI mode, when i run a benchmark in the games i play I.E F1 2010 or Dirt2 i get less fps in SLI than with a single card on average about 10 FPS less when SLI is enabled.

I've removed both cards and tried each card in single mode to confirm both cards are working ok. I'm running the latest drivers and SLI is enabled in Nvidia control panel. All graphics setting stayed the same while I run the tests, 1600x1200,

Any ideas? I thought i would get an increase not a drop

Yes both cards work perfectly individually, I was using a 700w psu I've just changed this for a brand new 800w but still the same.
