If you don't have an iPhone...

Only time i've thought "I wouldn't mind an Ipad or Iphone" is when I played Plants Vs Zombies on one in a shop and thought, wow i'd just love to keep this in the toilet for when i'm sitting there. Would be great fun to play games while on the toilet.

My phone atm is a Nokia 6700 Classic.. Yeah Classic :o

I had a 3GS, I now have an iPhone4. I will probably go for an iPhone5.

I think that's sort of hitting the nail on the head. That seems to sum up most Apple users. They blindly go from one device to the next for, what I can tell, is no real difference. Already stating that you'll go to a IP5 when the difference between that and an IP4 is probably going to be very minimal.

The amount of second hand iPads and iPads 2 (even in the Members Market on here) is untrue. Most people will use them at home where they have a PC or other Desktop there phones, etc. which all do a similar job - after all most people buy them to browse the web. Quite an expensive web browser IMHO.

In fact, from the people I know it seems to be the Android users who have complexes, constantly looking for an excuse to call you an "iFag" or a "sheep" or something else.

I'd say that was very accurate.
Android users spend their time explaining that their phone is like an iPhone to those that don't know what one is.

Oh wait becuase there is no one doing the same from the SG to the SG2. Thaw the problem with haters they seem to think apple is a special case, when it's actually inherent over all markets.

I boughy an iphone as it was the best smart phone on the market at the time. If one of the android or windows phones had been better I would have bought that instead.

Just like Nokia about 10 years ago :)

I haven't actually come across anyone in there that is an 'Apple fanatic', actually.

Indeed. There are far more anti-Apple nuts than there are blind Apple followers on here. Those of us with half a brain are quite capable of determining our consumer decisions for ourselves.

Every time i see somebody write anything along the lines of 'abc sucks, xyz is so much better' i die a little inside. It's like they suddenly take on the egotistical ratings of a petulant teenager. Such people really need to grow up.

The only Apple product I have is the iPhone and I have made good use of it. I can't really justify purchasing any other product as they are rather expensive, however the quality and what they look like is rather nice.

The thing is, Apple products seem to be more a "wealth" status, since everyone knows they are expensive.

But back then it wasn't like that, well not to the level it is now anyway! You had the battle of the bulges and people would brand hop every other month and it was mainly between Nokia and Ericsson who would smash out a new handset with a thinner, more discreet aerial or an LCD screen that displayed 10 more characters or whatever!

Those were the times :O

I have an iPod (this is my second one) and love it but definitely can't say it's perfect. Great bit of kit but seems a bit buggy sometimes. So where this "it just works" reputation comes from, I don't know. :p

Plenty of people have gone from a Desire to Desire HD to SGSII or similar, for what equates to 'no real difference' as you put it. People like new things, it isn't limited to Apple.

Do you mean low end Android, as its about the same price as most of the high end phones.

I'm considering the mid-end android handsets such as Nexus S, Galaxy S, Desire S, Incredible S and Xperia Arc. For many people this is the best they can afford and is roughly £200 cheaper than iphone on contract.

Thats not really a fair comparison.

http://shop.o2.co.uk/mobile_phone/pay_monthly/init/Samsung/Galaxy_S

24 month contract, free handset, cheapest calling plan £27.00pm

http://shop.o2.co.uk/mobile_phone/pay_monthly/init/Apple/iPhone_3GS_8GB_Black

24 month contract, free handset, same calling plan £32.00pm
24 month contract, free handset, cheaper calling plan £21.50pm

So the iPhone is £5 a month more expensive, or £150 costed over 2 Years (!), or you can get a lower tier calling plan and get it £5.50 a month cheaper which isn't possible with the Android without paying a £104.99 one off handset cost.

Its all swings and roundabouts, and anybody who declares one is better than the other has swallowed the marketing and turned off their brains.

You are able to buy the Galaxy S on a £18 a month contract with talkmobile. I pay £22 a month for 300 mins unlimited texts and 500mb data for a Nexus S on orange. £10 a month extra is still a lot for some people.

PS. I would much rather pay the extra for an Iphone 4 than buy a 3GS right now...
