turning 30 in 2 days- feeling sad :(

Invent a time machine... then you can go back to whatever age you want. Well any less than 30 :D

Even if you had a working time machine, going back in time wouldnt make you younger. You would be the same age, just at an earlier point in time.

When this OP reaches 30 years of age, you're going to see some serious ****!

30s are brilliant, you're not much older than your 20s but you are typically better off, so can do more exciting things and to be honest most people I know are probably happier in their 30s than 20s. I think you grow into your (adult) personality in your 30s, without needing to actually grow up.

This.

I'm 35 and have had the best years of my life since hitting 30. I'm fitter, have a better social life, have dated more, been on better holidays. Generally everything is better :)

wow!

Thanks for all the replies! Tis true there are benefits like being better with & having a little more money, I was more feeling the blues as the thought of hitting 30 kinda brought home the fact I'm getting older lol.
It didn't help when my daughter recently asked my Mrs if she was around in the Egyptian times after learning about king tut at school!

I'm 31 in about a month and two days. You'll think about it for a few days after the birthday celebrations and then just get on with things. My body is literally in the best shape it's ever been and so is my finances. Ok, I lost 'the girl' but on the up side I've been on a few dates and it was fun experiencing the dating world of the 30-somethings to the early 20-somethings when I last dated. Got heaps of travelling coming up this year, work is ok, I'm training hard and looking good, mates is great. What's to fret about being 30?

You either move on with time or you are left behind, living in the past - age is just a number and it's how old you act that defines you.

I'm in my 50's now and feel and mostly act no different to when I was in my 20's, well maybe apart from a little less energy.
Enjoy your life now as one day, there won't be any so, you might as well make the most of it and not worry about increasing age... that comes to everyone - it's just how you deal with it that matters!

This reminds me of the recent Batman Begings :D It makes me feel young :P

Agreed with Regulus 100%. Don't regret anything, live your life and just think positive. Sure there are plenty of things I would have liked to have achieved already, but at the same time I have a achieved a lot of things in spite. :)

Embrace your experience, and life, and look forward to new ones!

Besides, at 30 people start taking you more seriously! ;)

Just a sympathy thread really. I just am not at all enthusiastic about it- not having any party etc etc. Need someone to tell me its not all bad & stop being a big girls blouse!

I was the same, turned 30 just over 2 1/2 weeks ago, still alive :p

Its all fine, some people worry about ages way too much before turning them, then realise nothing has changed, unless you're old enough to retire, which by the time we are old enough to retire it'll probably, in 99/100 cases be beaten to the hit by death! :(

Don't worry, it'll be fine, but if you wake up on thursday with no hair and a face like an unironed shirt, then its hit you hard! :)

Shame I went a bit mad around thirty (well even more weirder than I was in my twenties) and I still haven't recovered at 35. Hope you enjoy it :P

30 was a reality check for me, realised id already done "it all wrong" so decided it no longer matters and just enjoy what you have.

Whippersnapper :)

30's are good times, enjoy them. Probably want to start being a bit more careful with what you eat and doing a bit more exercise but to be frank it's not much different.

Police will look like kids to you tho :)

Just think on your birthday that its the first day of the rest of your life and that you have so much to look forward too i.e:- old age, memory loss, getting fat, unfit, drinking bitter instead of lager, soft bread instead of crusty rolls, extra nasal hair, extra eyebrow hair and excessive ear hair, dentures etc ... you get the picture ;).
