800d Bad Airflow?

roflmao...thought you would be here soon dude :)

you got some pictures yet ?

yeah i posted some in the project section, need to get more picture up tho i was going to do it yes2day but i was fine tunning my overclock, i've now got it running 4ghz @ 1.23v @ 224x18, it was running at 200x20 @1.35v...

Any thoughts on having the h50 push/pull suck into the case or should I keep it going out?

Common sense tells me having it bring cooler air in would be better rather than having the warmer air inside pushed over the rad

IIRC Corsair said have the H50 pulling into the case then exhausting out the top.

I put Akasa vipers in my setup all the way through, got a push/pull setup on the processor cooler and i doubled up on the fan in lower compartment, one screwed to the dividing plate and one just sitting on the floor over the vent holes seems to keep my stuff at the right temp on air cooled

place a fan pulling air in at the very bottom of the case, directly below the lower fan.

This improves intake dramatically.

I think it was Skeeter on these forums that pointed that out a while back.

but as mentioned above, the 800d is really a watercoolers case :)

yeah I know it is but as always its a case of having the funding (and the cojones to actually put it together, never been fond of the thought of water and electricity next to expensive computer equipment with me in control!) it is a decent air cooling case with a couple of tweaks anyway.

have to agree, with the top and bottom and both sides all removed .. it's a dream for Air cooling

:P

Ive got the Akasa Vipers on the H50 pulling into the case and its a lot better now, only got one fan extracting from the top tho at the moment as Ive not got around to swapping my Zalman fan controller over.

Its funny you say about the sides off I was sitting at the pc last night with them off :)

@EnderXi Does the one fan just resting not move around just sitting there?

I have this case and that cooler. It is fine for me with 3xSharkoon Silent Eagles (1000 rpm models) in the top blowing air out, and air coming into the case through the H-50.

I found my graphics card ran a lot cooler when I placed it below my sound card though, as the air going into it seemed to be a little restricted the other way around.

My only trouble is I have just bought a pair of Akasa Vipers to upgrade to a push-pull setup, and I have no spare 3pin fan connectors as they are used for the HD cooling fan and the big fan at the bottom. The H-50 uses two already with just one fan connected... a fan controller might be needed I think...

Just as an update switching the fans round and putting 3 akasa fans extracting at the top has worked wonders, Ive got the top 3 running to a zalman fan controller which looks mighty fine too :D

Ooo I have a quick question, is there a fan extension cable that would let me run the H50 pump cable as shown below.

It would run parallel to the other two wires behind the fans, up to the top out the back, right around then back in :D

Cant stand the wire going across!
