Need soundcard right now!

I on the other hand wouldn't, I'd get the D1/DX, unless you need the extra features of the D2/D2X. D2/D2X is technically a better card, better components, but many people struggle to notice a difference in sound quality. Might come down to what speakers/headphones/headset you are using.
 
The D2X has got the added extras like DTS, better Dolby Digital capabilities etc..

The D2X is the better card, but the DX is still a great card so it all depends if you can afford the extra and if you're that fussed about the little extras.
 
I would get the cheaper card if you are only using it for gaming, but if you are using it for more than just gaming then the other would be better. Also what speakers, headphones are you using? If you are only using cheap headphones/speakers no point in spending lots on a high end sound card.

im just about to order a Gigabyte P67-A-UD4-B3 mobo which has 3 x Pci-e slots so should be fine with that. Using for gaming and some music...speakers Acoustic Energy Aego 2.1's and with Senn HD 595 headphones. Worth getting the D2X?
