Well I am being transferred to Glasgow and now just looking at potential apartments before I actually arrive back in the UK so I have a good idea of what to expect.

Which areas of Glasgow would be the nicest to live?
Is it better to live in the City or just outside and use trains/buses to get in to the city.

I have only been to Glasgow once in my life and so I really have no idea which areas are the best and which are the more so called dodgy areas.

Thanks!

Bearsden, Shawlands, Newlands, Dowanhill or have a 45 minute commute and move to Inverkip. Smallish village, practically no crime, very quiet, nice marina and good eateries.

Southside is best - but i live there so im going to think that. West end is good, loads of nice pubs and large collection of beer gardens - its more expensive there and council tax seems to be higher. Stay away from the East end and North Glasgow at all costs..

Depends on what you are looking for TBH. The City Centre area is just like any other city centre with regards to business, noise, closeness to everything etc.

For an easier pace of life outside the city, you are looking at (South) Shawlands, Pollokshaws and Thornliebank or (West) Kelvingrove, Thornliebank kind of things.

Most areas of the West End are nice. Stay in Hyndland myself and its a great area. Handy for transport as well.

Although tends to be more expensive in the West End. Some areas of the South Side are decent aswell
