Hi guys,

New to this part of the forum so I do apologise if I'm in the wrong section.

Basically I'm after a printer for general home use, I.e printing cover letters, C.v's, that sort of thing. I'd really like one that doesn't cost the earth to refill when the ink runs out. Looking to spend around 40-50£.

Many thanks,

Josh

It sounds like a B&W laser would be best for your needs. Brother makes very decent units that fall nicely in your price range. 5000+ pages later @ 15PPM, when you burn through your first toner cartridge, you can replace it for about £35.

Hi, l use a Canon ip4300 and its a very good printer, so have a look at the Canon ip3600 £58 but shop round good reviews, compatable inks about £2.50 ready chipped, l'l been using compatible inks over 2yrs and prints are still very good with no problems at all.:)

I agree with this, for home use lasers tend to be a lot better because ink dries up when only used occasionally.

I use a canon ip6200, for a full set refill (Black text cartridge, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key) costs me about £3.00
