it works the other way around with condensation
you treat the cause of the condenstaion first and then the damp and mold will dry out by itself
you can then brush it off and there are paints you can use to treat the wall
The walls been treated twice with stuff we bought from b&q in a 5ltr container and then repainted over some days later. The room gets plenty of ventilation we open the windows regularly all over the house.
Its mystery to me as i know very little about these things but i appreciate everyones advice and opinion.

Do you dry clothes on your radiators? Is the bathroom properly ventilated, do you open the window after a shower?
Move out, that will make you ill.
That really should be sorted asap. Your landlord is a tool because it's going to ruin the brick work if not fix.
Damp, condensation, fungus, it dosen't matter what you call it it's dangerous. Speak to the HSE and see what the advise.
I would try once more to get it fix and ask him why he thinks it's ok because it's "only condensation".
