Logitech G9 Shutting Off

My Logitech G9 mouse shuts off intermittently. On average every half hour or so. This is getting to be very annoying.

Do you think this is a driver fault or should I send it back?

By shutting off I mean the light on the mouse is going out and windows makes the device disconnect sound.

E-mail logitech. they gave me a new (better) mouse for a similar problem

If you give it a shake, does it turn back on again?
Apparently there was a similar problem with some G5s that was caused by a short circuit where cable meets the mouse. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logitech_G5

i had the same problem with my G7, turned out to be the usb thing that goes into the docking station, i also used the software that came with mine.
+1 for emailing logitech, they have an excellent return policy and will probably give you a new one.

It's been fine for 2 years, giving it a shake doesn't help it just comes back on itself. I shall email Logitech

Yes, of course.

I contacted Logitech. They said to first try and get it swapped by the retailer and if that fails to contact them and they will replace it.

nice one! was the retailer OcUK? I got mine from Curry's and even lost the receipt! they replaced it with an MX performance mouse

Sounds like you have an internal break in the wire. Usually occurs where the wire enters the mouse.
