Here we go again. The tube drivers have voted to strike over the "unfair" sacking of two colleagues. We are now faced with six strikes ("walkouts"):

Bought to you by that dinosaur Bob Crowe and the RMT. It’s about time we had some legislation to stop this bunch creating chaos and ruining London’s economy.

Time to fire them all. Hire people at half the salary who will be grateful for a job.

It's on and it's off. We are now getting a wee bit farcical with London Underground saying the strike is off and the unions saying the opposite. Someone should lock them in a room and not let them out until this is resolved.

If you have ever been in a room with Bob Crow then you will realise that is not something to look forward to.

The RMT are not that bad to deal with on the whole, yet every time that rabid socialist gets involved then there are always unresolved disputes and stupid rhetoric.

He once told me that my privileged upbringing meant that I couldn't possible understand the real world concerns of his members!!!!

He is an idiot.

Bob Crowe, loltastic, he has a face, and an attitude you couldn't get tired of punching.

Says the man on a six figure salary.

He's the poster boy for champagne socialists, if you disagree with him on absoluetly anything (e.g. what's the best pizza topping) I'd hazard a guess he'd work calling you a tory, a toff, a snob etc. etc. into his counter argument.

The interesting points:

The RMT said almost two-thirds of its members voted in favour of industrial action over claims Eamon Lynch and Arwyn Thomas were sacked because of their trade union activities.

LU managing director Mike Brown said: "Just 29% of the 1,300 drivers balloted voted for this strike.

As for the two men in question:

Both men have taken a case of unfair dismissal to an employment tribunal.

LU said it was "absolute nonsense" to suggest the men were dismissed because of their union activities.

It added that Mr Thomas was dismissed over "abusive behaviour" towards his colleagues and Mr Lynch was sacked because he "over-rode his train's safety systems and drove the train with complete disregard for established procedures".
'Irresponsible and idiotic'

So what happens when the tribunal upholds the decision to sack them? Why would two random people be sacked because of their union activities? Would LU play into the RMT's hands so easily and blatantly. God I hate Bob Crow!

He maybe an arse but he gets things done in favour of his agenda and members.

not that i support him or his methods.

True. I remember in a previous thread - discovering he has done a lot for RMT members but was that not because they had a lot less back then?
