A little Advice if you can please

PS how the hell you guys uploading here/ i doing something wrong or you have the power ? lol

You just need to find the direct link to the image (this is available for each of your images in photobucket) and using
with the direct URL between the two square brackets.

We have... magical powers ;)

You just need the direct link of the picture, then you type IMG and /IMG around the link, like so:
Code:
[img]www.picturelink.com/randompicture.png[/img]

Gotcha lol Doh not my week lol
Running seagate now,

UPDATE

All HDD test ran & all passed. the only thing is it showed i had to, when i only have one. Both the same Model numbers everything.
I don't have any other driver active drive, Talking of active, in Disk manager the drive i have is partitioned, One into an 100MB active section & the main part into a what ever is left unActive section. Should this main part be ACTIVE ? & not the 100MB section & would that give me any benefits setting it as Active

Sounds like your disk is physically fine, this is very good to hear (the 100MB thing is just a standard windows thing - don't worry about it).

The next thing I would suggest doing is the backup and re-install of windows as soon as you get the chance (during the start of the setup make sure you format the hard drive).

It's normal. The 100mb partition is where all the boot files are stored and is what allows the system to boot into Windows. The main parition is active but doesn't need to state it. Everything is normal, and if the HDD test is fine and passed, then I would try sort out the cooling for the northbridge.

You need to copy the direct link which can be found here, this is what needs to go in between the

lol ok ok you can post photo's n i can't get to grips with a Dam Link this week lol. I must be losing it big time, I normally know a lot of this stuff. Just at my wits end with this thing, Ok backing up My Things man & trying to find a good copy of windows to down & then burn, thanks guys for your help & Orcvader Thanks man,

the thing is with the large partition it doe's ask me if i right click if i want to set as active. But ok not to worry you say . that'll do me :)
Talk soon

If you have one to hand use a windows 7 64 bit disk when you re-install - your existing windows 7 product code (even if it is an OEM) is still valid and you will get access to all your RAM (with your current system only 3.25GB is accessible due to the limitation of 32bit windows).

Yes i was going to ask about that, maybe upgrading to the 64Bit would be better, then i could always look at upgrading my RAM to 8Plus Gb if the broad will take it.

shame i can't use all 4 slots, n mix the DDR2 DDR3. but i understand why i can't.

I'll have to go see if 4GB would in each slot would work & what the max is for this Mobo

thinks I'll try find a clean 64bit version :)

Afternoon Guys
OK well reinstalled Windows, n yes the 64 bit lol. So I'll give it some Welly today & see how things go. But i haven't installed any chip-set drivers yet, only the one's from the install. n there all 2006 drivers. I know there some 2009 out there But each time i go to the Gigabyte site it says no updates. Could you recommend the best drivers, Whats your thoughts on that Driver pack solution 2011 http://drp.su/download.htm only thing I don't trust the Russkie's with all the Mafia driven stuff thats been coming out of there lately you think this is my best Option to update all my Old 2006 drivers?

Talk soon Guys n thanks again,
your both stars

Good to hear you got it installed ok (with the 64 bit version) - with any luck those old issues won't pop up again.

I don't know quite what that link is, but I would strongly suggest you pick and install the drivers yourself first.

The first thing to do is to download and install the motherboard drivers, go here, download type: "driver" and choose your OS : "Windows 7 64 bit" and install the chipset, audio and LAN drivers. Then fully run windows update (control panel>system and security>windows update) and get all that up to date (though don't let it do the graphics drivers). Then install the graphics drivers from here.

As for your motherboard supporting more RAM, as you say you can't mix DDR2 and DDR3, but the board does support two modules of 4GB DDR3 (8GB total), so if you are feeling you are running out of RAM for the applications you are using then this is an option (however 4GB is usually more than enough for most uses).

OK guys Crunch time lol
Much happier with the 64bit so for, Runs a little better, until after an hour or so of heavy game play, I used to be able to play this game 24/7 with out any problems. But after an hour it loads in sections so maybe this is something to do with the northbridge after all, Cause since I moved a fan over it, it's not as bad. So is re-paste an option you think ?

thanks for your help guys

Hope to get more Ram next week also, as second-life as an Optimized viewer for 8GB RAM.

So you moved a fan over it and see some sort of improvement. In that case yes I will suggest a repaste, maybe a better northbridge cooler. Looks like we've found the problem :p!

Darn, are the same issues raising their head again in windows? - or are the problems just confined to the game?

If you feel that the northbridge is getting too hot (check this using "everest ultimate") then I would give the repast a go - the northbridge is isolated (not linked to other coolers with heatpipes), so it shouldn't be too touch to remove and repaste with proper paste (I would recommend MX-3). Also, you may want to consider investing in a bigger cooler for the northbridge (if heat remains an issue) as this one is less than a fiver.

As for more RAM this kit is a nice kit and will happily run at 1333MHz (or 1066MHz if needed). You should be able to sell on your 4GB DDR3 kit and make up a bit of the money back.

thanks for that guys
I'll be investing in some RAM & cooler shortly.
Let me ask now since this was my first over clock if that's what you can call it, do you think i could have done some damage. & how would you Rate this Mobo i have now. I have seen better out there, for around 60/80 Qwid, or a Full Mobo Kit & Ram, Plus correct me if am wrong But I hear Intel are NOT the best for clocking,{hopes i don't offend anyone} lol
I mean I like my system Snappy, n to be honest this sure is not as snappy as it was. maybe it will after the coolers added.
I'll keep in touch & let you know how it fair's ok Guys

Your both stars & thank you again for you time on this matter.

Gary

Unfortunately, it is possible. The only way to really test this is to set everything back to stock settings (clear CMOS) and do stress tests and see it the issue remains. If it does then there may well be damage done.

Intel boards can be amazing for overclocking, but unfortunately the board you went for is not optimised for overclocking (it is a pretty basic board) - the G41 chipset is the cheapest, lowest-end intel chipset of that generation I believe.

If you were buying again today I would have suggested either a P35, P45 or X48 board if you plan to do a lot of overclocking. You can buy P45 boards such as the ASUS P5Q Pro/Deluxe/Pro Turbo or P5Q-E for around £40 second-hand and these are VERY solid and highly overclockable motherboards (stable at 500MHz FSB).

lol OK I don't get this Fans over my northbridge its cool as anything right now this lol
But after an hour playing the on line Game & my Display card temps only read 42c.
but here it is again
Blackblobsbackagain.jpg
& then after a few seconds maybe 2/3 it shows as this
Whenfullopened.jpg

this is the computer page when you go to look at your drives & ROM, it's even worse now guys,,, cries lol
Untitled.jpg

So 4GB Ram witch is all ok by the test, the card is also fine, fans 7 in all in the system now, but still got this problem, could this be a memory thing?
only things i have open are 2 pages of Google chrome & Skype & MSI Burner as you can see. & now it's really really slow & non responsive takes time to open things up.

Just one thing where it says physical memory should i have much more than 57 left there, Since I'm running hardly nothing

thanks gary

Lmao the Voodoo magic works

sorry to ask guys, any other tests i can do? it's worse now. an hour playing n thats it & i got nothing running as you can see..

Fingers crossed

That is a real head scratcher, I'll show this thread to a few more computer inclined friends and see if they have encountered similar problems or have any other suggestions.

In the meantime I can only suggest making a note of your overclocked BIOS settings. Then reset your CMOS (using the procedure shown on page 19 of your motherboard manual) and try running the game with your system at optimised defaults (not overclocked) and see if you encounter the same issues.

14) CLR_CMOS (Clearing CMOS Jumper)
Use this jumper to clear the CMOS values (e.g. date information and BIOS configurations) and reset
the CMOS values to factory defaults. To clear the CMOS values, place a jumper cap on the two pins to
temporarily short the two pins or use a metal object like a screwdriver to touch the two pins for a few
seconds.

Open: Normal
Short: Clear CMOS Values

• Always turn off your computer and unplug the power cord from the power outlet before clearing the CMOS values.
• After clearing the CMOS values and before turning on your computer, be sure to remove the
jumper cap from the jumper. Failure to do so may cause damage to the motherboard.
• After system restart, go to BIOS Setup to load factory defaults (select Load Optimized
Defaults) or manually configure the BIOS settings (refer to Chapter 2, "BIOS Setup," for BIOS
configurations).

Hi Andi & Orcvader ,
thank you for your reply Help.
OK yes i was reading the manual i have here & thought of doing that, So i have all set at stock Ram 266 & CPU 1066 I'm about to go play a few game's Cyris 2 & then second-life. also reset the display card to stock. NO MSI Burner for fan so fan set at 30%.
I hope you & your colleges can help me get to the bottom of this, right now it's fine running OK. Not to Jinx things but in an hour or so if it starts doing this again, I'll get down on my knees & whisper to her gently & tell her that there's a crusher waiting in town, & see how she act's.lol.
I don't know why but something nagging me that this could be a memory maybe a leak?
But them Asus broads you told me about ! Dam Andi I so got to get me one of them lol
I'll report back later tonight.
hope your both OK & well
& thank you
Talk soon Gary
