Euro Millions, Tuesday 10th May Draw

if you have mates like that, i wouldnt call them mates ;)

also like 90% of new businesses fail within their first 3 years or something like that, so your actually just ******* it away, instead of them on something they want

Idd.

I would pay off all my mates and families mortgages. Buy them all a new car and them 100k to do what they wanted with, obviously close family would get a little more.

What would I do with 85mil? Nothing except leave it in the bank. Even if I was left with 10mil for myself that would be too much... not that i'm going to win anyway :p

Man now I understand why gambling is so addictive. Added a fiver credit, one for the euromillions and 2 other crappy games. Glad I only put a fiver on there.

i did 2 euro millions and 1 x 3 number hot picks (very high chance of winning that compared to any of the others)

also i know a shop owner who has 3 shops he swears lucky dips are fixed, he has lottery in all of his shops. and he guarantees scratch cards are a con too.

I've put a line on for tonight, not played the lotto in a long long time.

You would be crazy to give your mates money, as soon as they blow it they will be back for me.

So after they've blowin' the money that you've given them are you saying your mates would come back and give you a blow aswell?

I feel a total party pooper her but...

116,000,000 to 1

I read something about number theory and why we think we have a chance at winning the lottery. Basically our brains can't comprehend the odds, in reality it's impossible for you to win the lottery, not someone in general but you personally.

1 in 116,000,000 = 1 person in the UK in my brain

theres like 80 million officially living in the UK + all the illegal immigrants, which i can grant you the number is in the millions.

so yeah thats how i look at it. its extremely crap odds, but no doubt it may happen, thats why the jackpot is so high, its risk to reward ratio which works in gambling.

one time i put a £1 on 6 teams to all win, they did and i won £200, now the odds there were 200 to 1, which are quite high, and hardly any chance of winning, so 1 in 116 million is next to no chance, thats why i only do it when the jackpot is over 50 million so the risk to reward ratio is better.

I guess I could have just checked the website. I just did, it's half seven.

Got a lucky dip and one row on, you never know. I picked numbers of important dates, perhaps this will help me remember the womans birthday!

You seem to be forgetting all the other prizes.

idgi:( why rule out all numbers above 31?

I am confuse?

if you dont write the names of the people who your going to be giving the money to on the thing you sign when you get it from the lottery, they need to pay tax on it, or something like that.

so if your in a syndicate all the names go on it.

otherwise this would be a great way to get around inheritance tax, etc. look son heres £30 million before i die.

Because numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 have as much chance as winning as 32, 33, 34, 35 and 36, which have as much chance as numbers 1, 14, 25, 37 and 49.
There is no logic in choosing your numbers as each as an equal chance as coming up.

Or...

GF: Do you know what today is?
You: Tenth of May, 2011?
GF: Yes, and do you know what's special about it?
You: I sure do, honey. 10, 05, 20, 11, they're my lottery numbers! It's nice of you to remember :)
GF:

I went with two LDs and two randomly generated numbers.

There's actually only around 60 million people in the UK and illegal immigration is factored in to population estimates, and it's small. It's closer to half a person in the UK than one person.

:D Or that...

I always play '14, 25 and 28' but the other numbers are random. Went for one lucky dip as well.

I would probably try and set up a joint bank account with some money in it and give a few trusted friends/family a card linked to the account. Surely that would be all above board? Can you set up spending limits on bank accounts per transaction?

I'd put my family on that list. Might not give any away to friends and colleagues. Sounds like a bit of a headache. But I'd certainly be a lot more generous so they'd benefit at least in some small way.
