Hi,

I have a choice for new tyres for the rear of my car. I am looking at the 195/50/15 or 195/55/15 (stock tyre size) size really. It seems I have a choice of the following ones.

Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 (£56 in 195/50)
Hankook V12 (£56 in 195/55, £41 in 195/50)
Continental Premium Contact 2 (£76 in 195/55, £52 in 195/50)

It is going on an integra which I hear a decent sidewall is recommended, hense why there isn't the yoko parada or toyo t1-r on there. Which do people think I should go for? People seem to go for all really on DC2 forums.

Where are you finding the PE2's at that price? Thats incredibly cheap. I work for a tyre wholesaler and don't think I can get them that cheap! The 205/45/16 PE2's on my old 182 were like £120?

No brainer, PE2's.

Check they are actually PE2's though becuase at that price I somewhat doubt it. If they are infact Energys, then ge the Premium Contacts instead.

They probably put the price up in that size as they knew the 182 fanboys would buy them after the TG review.

I'd probably go with Potenza RE010 if it's a DC2-R.

RE010's were discontinued in 2009/2010. No chance of getting any, that's the tyre I am replacing though.

There you go, also blackcircles have it at the same price. Is it all ok having one axle on 195/55 and the other on 195/50?

Wouldn't be the end of the world, but not sure why you'd want to. Think of the axle with 50's on it as being lowered 10mm relative to the other end, with whatever effects on the attutude of the chassis and handling that may have. Is that something you particularly want to do?

I think it's probably time you went and did maths again, £33 x 2 = £66, the PE2's are £55.

Why saddle yourself with cheap tyres when you can easily afford to buy the best tyres? £55 is a good deal for PE2's.

Lol Kumhos. It's a performance car, why compromise for the sake of a few quid.

Good call for going for stiff sidewalls though. I'm getting the new Bridgestone S001s fitted tomorrow to replace the RE050As

Did I say half, or nearly half?

I would go for PE2 also, I was offering a cheaper alternative.

DC2 drivers happen to rate them, whether that's because they're so cheap I have no idea.. I liked them on my EK9.

Won't the wrong tyre size **** up the handling, or is it ok?

195/50 on standard ride felt funny on my 306 GTI/Rallye's whereas 195/55 felt good.
