Is PSN under attack? - PSN now back up 15/05

Yeah, it will be one PS3 game and one PSN game. Not a bad deal at all.

Apparently anyone who's been sent the email warning could be able to take up the offer. I've got an email and I've not had a PS3 for months so it'll be interesting to see how exactly they will verify who is and isn't eligible...

Surely anyone with a registered account?

This seems very open to abuse. I think they should ask for serial numbers or something else that verifies ownership of the console (maybe they can see that serial online from their end and associated account?). Although a few owners may no longer want to connect their PS3s online after the recent problems :)

Anyway, I will happily take any spare games off people in return for some postage and packaging money :D

If they do plan to genuinely give away 77million PS3 games and PSN games I imagine they will be reducing this years profits projection by a massive amount!

If I remember correctly, you have to enter your serial online. At least every time I logged in on the site it said to complete your registration, enter your serial number.

well I would def say this PSN outage is now worse than the RROD. I mean, I can see people just not buying a ps3 in the future because of this... and who can trust sony with our info on any of their products?

Sony 3 weeks of PSN downtime is the same as about 2years of your console RRODing? AS for trusting Sony with, could be said about any company TBH, at least they didnt leave the data sat on a train somewhere lol.

Not really, I'd rather have the PSN issue instead of having to get a replacement console every 3 months.

PSN issue is just an annoyance, RROD means I have to physically replace the machine.

Really?...always every 3 months?...the warrenty turn around time was faster than this outage, plus now personal information is lost.

Not saying its as bad, just a different bad..or a possible worse as I think details will be floating about the scenes for months.
