16 hours in Malaysia

The air is also nice and fresh and fairly cool as you are quite high up. Not sure about KL around that time but Singapore is currently very warm and humid.

I'm in Delhi now, it's 45 outside, just done 2 hours work on the roof of this office, didn't look glamorous by the end of it. Bbc says KL is 30 and a bit rainy, so will probably still feet hot but manageable :)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try to get about a bit in the time I have, will probably stay fairly central in the city, save the other attractions for a longer visit next time (if it goes well) But they do sound tempting!

oh and one tip i remember from the guys at work, dont go to the hard rock cafe. its massively expensive, easily £50 for a decent meal!
I don't know why anybody would go there anyway?

You're in Malaysia FFS, why go to some overpriced and **** western food 'restaurant'?
Go somewhere local which will not only have local cuisine, but be much cheaper and infinitely better in every way.

KL is horrible right now , not had any rain for nearly a week so very hot .. Around 35-36C during the day, haze again too from wood burning in Indonesia!

Oh man..... no doubt that smog will be coming our way for a few weeks too.... :(.

Oh well. thanks for the heads up.

16 hours is a bit of a blip. As mentioned by Shine you'll need to be in the Petronas Towers ticket office AT LEAST an hour before it opens to queue. As it's free it gets rammed fast and if you are at the back of the queue you'll be lucky to get tickets. I'd recommend an hour and a half to two hours if you want a morning slot.

Actually I was only suggesting to look at them from the outside, not worth going up.

There is an F1 car in the foyer too! :D

Did the tour of the tower, was alright but like others have said that would take up a huge amount of your time, had 2 days there so wasn't so bad for us.

Going to second the Batu Caves as well, its on the rail network as well so easy to get to, nice to visit, though if its hot, you are going to be in for some hell, the stairs aren't exactly relaxing.

I did KL a couple of weeks over with a 23 hour stopover. Luckily the times allowed us to stay in a hotel for the night. I actually enjoyed it slot more than I thought I would, especially at night.

Went to the pavilion shopping centre which is one of the biggest shopping centres 450+ IIRC. Id spend most of your time in this area, there are loads of shops around and restaurants, go an see the Petronas Towers as late as you can. Looks 100 times
Better lit up. Like someone mentioned above there's a big shopping centre there aswell (KLCC). Took about 20 mins walk to get from the pavilion centre ( which is on one of the main shopping streets as far as I could work out) bit taxis are really cheap in KL.

I must add, a large big mac meal was about £2.20! :o

KL has a lot of shopping malls, Pavilion is one of the biggest and very new - all the high end shops are there. But Malaysia is quite expensive if you want to buy anything brand name compared to UK and other countries. You can check out Low Yat Plaza if you want to buy any PC stuff - some items are cheaper as there's no VAT/Duty on PC parts in Malaysia
