When would OcUK stock these? Definitely worth to have a pair for high-end users.

(Confirmed to exist by the site owner of chiphell. Exclusive review inc by the end of May.)

After Metro 2033 and Shogun 2 DX11 delivered an effect of permanently silencing the followers of 1GB vram, MSI has finally made a move.

It reminds me how Sapphire did last year - only pushed 5870 2GB when they'd sold enough 5870 1GB, to maximise sales and profit.

Not sure I can follow what you're implying.

A card which may or may not yet exist (as far as I thought, was in the 'does not exist' category being unlisted as a product on their own site's product portfolio, and their 3GB offering would be in the 590 which isn't a true usable 3GB but 1.5GB x2 SLI and not a lightning/extreme model), will have to be bought somewhere else because OCUK restocked a card that does exist?

Which bit am I not getting?

When you observe a price drop of 580 Lightning 1.5GB, you could imply a release of 580 Lightning 3GB. It's exactly the same situation as last year when Sapphire released 5870 Vapor-X 2GB after they had sold enough many 5870 Vapor-X 1GB. Isn't it clear?

The problem is that OcUK would have to clear the current stock of 580 Lightning 1.5GB before they start selling the 3GB version.

I guess it figures it would announce a week after I buy my card :) Not that I reckon I'll notice any difference since I'm not really pushing mine (not tweaking/overclocking), but I would have liked it for the cooler nonetheless.
