Err you might want to step away from the computer and cool down, the overall tone of your comments are very aggressive/offensive.Here's some more facts for you, every game maker wants your money, they create games, good and bad, to get your cash, who the hell cares.
To follow yeah its good fun, but its only a game and as thus a piece of merchandise as a consumer YOU SHOULD CARE if your asked to pay £4-5 for a single map, argue however you like to justify this, but I can buy whole games for £5. If you seriously are going to defend this kind of action then you are actively endorsing this behaviour in other companies.
As for the ridiculousness of your post, COD fans are mostly people who have never played an FPS before, yet you say COD used to be good? Basically that just doesn't make sense, loyal fanbase of people that never played another FPS before, because really its crap but those loyal people don't realise how crap it was...... that makes more sense.
It might be difficult to logically understand what I said:
CoD has a dedicated fanbase mostly consisting of people who had never played any other FPS up until MW (if that).
To logically lay this out for you:
- All CoD fans like CoD
- Most CoD fans have not played any other FPS games before MW
To invert the previous point that means that some CoD fans HAVE played other games
Now to develop my missed point to you:
People do take the side of a product or brand and feel the need to bring everyone to their own way of thinking, to name a few electronic products take Apple product fans or go all the way back to the old Spectrum Vs Commodore arguments etc. This is fact and irrefutable.
Again err watch the language your really starting to sound like a flaming troll and I know you don't want to be seen as being just a troll.COD 1-4 were mostly brilliant games, COD 2 looks NOTHING like COD 4 or black ops or anything else. ITs a modified engine, sure but this isn't a 206 vs a 206 and some **** has put a wing on it, its taking a 206 engine and sticking it in a Ferrari. Its looking for excuses to call it bad. Its not the best looking game ever, most games aren't, its not comparable in any way to COD 2 so stop bringing it up people, its a VERY weak argument for why a game is bad. Especially as MW2 looked pretty amazing, MW2 looks more than fine, Blackops looks horrible and feels "wrong" somehow, thats that particular company being an inept bunch of morons as opposed to the engine sucking.
I loved CoD and UO a whole lot, I used to play them all the time. All the CoD games are good in their own right what are you actually trying to say here I am confused?
COD 4 was, great, epic to play through story, well thought out, good pacing, good actiong, good feel, good characters, good everything. MW2 was decent enough, more rehashed old scenes done prettier than new content, but it was fun enough to play, the game inbetween shouldn't be mentioned, utter tripe and Black Ops is a bit of a joke. Story, action, pacing, graphics somehow seem worse than previously, quality is way down. Its a bad game, so what, anyone familiar with COD should realise the "inbetween" games are utter rubbish.
The next one looks set to be done by a different company, they've neither proven themselves great, or rubbish yet.
Yes, it would be great if like COD 1/2/uo/4 each title we get was epic, brilliant, insanely fun to play and with awesome MP to boot, if not, thats life.
MW3 might be brilliant and you'll look like idiots for trashing it, or it might be a joke.
Err and who will we look like idiots to? and what does an idiot look like prey tell?
Seriously you seem a bit overly obsessed with this brand.
Halo fans are the same
CSS fans are the same
Quake fans are the same
Unreal fans are the same
CoD fans are the same
It might suck, it might not. I think the point here is that we don't know, the point is that this announcement was blatantly in response to the BF3 announcement. Activision are not a nice friendly consumer company, for that matter neither are EA. They both seek huge profits by trying to exploit their consumers and especially their long term fan base.
You really shouldn't be supporting them waving their flags. They are not creating games for your enjoyment, they are creating products to make money from. Now yes this is what you could say is the simplified ethics of a whole number of companies, but the difference that I and I am not alone in this when I say we see is that a great deal of games companies (take valve for instance) believe in keeping their fanbase happy by continuously improving their products FREE, yes FREE of charge. Just as long as they can afford it. Take this very forum, it is provided to us at cost and this is why I take every opportunity to front OcUk because they dont just provide me with a product they provide me with something else.
Most games companies previous to CoD MW2 would have maybe asked you to buy a couple of expansion packs that in most cases bring new single player campaigns, new maps, new objectives and a new multiexperience and these were rarely more than 60% of the original game price.
Now you could argue that development costs have risen. (Activision did), but a company who is rehashing a well recognised brand will already have worked out it's profit margin before commencing development and hey dont forget Activision tried not to pay development costs and then made billions so has no real standing to do this, but as stated. They did!!!
