Hi guys,

My current mouse is on its way out.

I was wondering if a gaming mouse will benefit for everyday PC use? I.e browsing the internet. Will it give me a better experience?
I do game a little bit I must add.

I was looking at spending around £30 - 45 BTW!

Cheers :)

For everyday pc useage and only a bit of gaming i, personally, would concentrate more on comfort.

I personally like the logitech range - but it's wise to test them out in your hands first because if you have large hands, or vice versa, some mice can be feel very clumsy.

The G500 has a weights system to alter the weight. lol. And it has on the fly dpi adjustment.

the MX518 is just a bargain at £23

See if you can find a MX518 in the shops and see if it feels comfortable. If it does go home and order it from here :) £23 for a quality mouse is cheap, for a well thought of gaming mouse its giving them away.

I personally have found the G500 to be more comfortable and accurate than the mx518. For everyday browsing there's a lot of customization available on the g500; you can literally bind 7 different macros or shortcuts on the mouse. It's a steal at £30 but I won't take anything away from the mx518 as it's also a great mouse.

Yeah, I'll go and test them in my hands (didn't even thing about that lol ). I know somewhere I can try.

I think it's between the G500 and MX518

MX518 : optical
G500 : Laser

The G500 pointer feels smoother (G500 a tad lighter maybe?). The MX518 feels sturdier, Thumb buttons are better. The flywheel on the G500 is gimmicky (never found a good use for it, except for lulz cycling weapons). The G500 has a weird thumbrest texture, like sandpaper, although doesn't really bother me.

I'd go MX518, simpler, rock solid and perfectly capable. I use mine at work. I do like the G500, but too much fluff. It's a bit too personal to recommend.

If you can afford it (it's around £44), the Razer Deathadder is a very nice mouse. I previously had a Razer Habu, which was also amazing.

the deathadder respawn also gets you a shiny new mousemat, which can also double as a duvet :p

from what ive heard though, the logitech MX518 is the way to go

Razer Copperhead. £33 - £45.

Awesome, I remember when I first used this in COD UO after using my Manchester United mouse for years, I shot and killed someone in such a fluid way that it was awesome. Team chat went berserk.

Great mouse... still use it.

I would advise you get a Razer Deathadder
Had mine for about 2 years now and I love it there is no way I could go back to a normal mouse after using this

Also depending on what you use now the mouse mat does make quite a big difference I bought a razer eXactMat and it just feels so much better that the plastic thing I had before

I've notice a bit of difference after purchasing this: This

See if you can find a MX518
