Anyone feel they can't go back to older games?

I've missed out on so many games that got high praise but find it hard to actually go back and get into them. I seem to only get into new games that out.

I must have about 15 ps3 games that came out between 2008-2010 that were all praised as decent titles but I've got round to them.

For example, these games I am interested in but just can't seem to find the motivation to play them.

Darksiders
Condemned 2
Mirrors Edge
Fear 2
Brutal Legend
Red Faction
Bayonetta
Assasins Creed2
Valkrie chronicles
Everybodys Golf
InFamous

Theres just so much games I've missed out on.

Yes i missed out on MGS4 but i corrected that.

And today i bought pre owned Uncharted 2 as ive never played any uncharted games! just to see what its like as i had some love2shop vouchers to burn.

Btw i also did the Valkyrie Chronicles thing, played it about twice and didnt revisit:/ Id say the rest of them on your list could be skipped to...

Condemned 2 is awful, and Fear 2 isn't great at all, so you're really not missing out on skipping those.

For me, the worst thing I can do is buy more than game at once, because then neither of them really get looked at. I also suffer quite badly from 'new game syndrome', in as much as I always seem to buying a new game, even if I haven't got the time to even start it. Must have about 6 games still in their shrink wrap for my PS3, which I expect will stay like that now.

Bayonetta is wortha play through at least and AC2 is a really good game in my opinion. The I wouldn't bother with especially Brutal Legend as I found out first hand those are hours of my life that I will never get back!

LOL it's nothing to do with motivation it's that you subconscious knows all of those are crap :p

Mirrors Edge is utter genius.
Fixed.

I'm quite good at not buying new games bar Call of Duty and FIFA, I generally pick up older games for cheap and play through those. Currently on Godfather II.

As for the list, I loved Condemned back in the day but didn't get on with the sequel. Brutal Legend I got on a rental and quite liked it until it turned into a RTS game. Should really have read up on it. :D

Older games, they aren't really older games. i was thinking more along the lines of GoG Games as older games.

As in real life there is never enough time to do everything you want and gaming is no different, too many games and not enough time, miss something and even going back to it is hard if there is enough of a decent turnover in games.

I use to suffer from 'new game syndrome' then I had to stop when I noticed I still have so many DS, PS2, XBOX 1, Gamecube games unopened on my shelf. I don’t want to even look at the current gen unopened games I have. Now it’s a case of I play one game per console and move onto the next after completion (not including fighting games). Unless it’s something big such as Gears 3 or Uncharted 3, when they come out then no matter what I’m playing at the time I will move straight onto them.

I’m actually going through Darksiders right now and enjoying it. Mirrors Edge, Brutal Legend, Assasins Creed2 and 1, InFamous are games on my shelf waiting to be played, again some are still sealed. Bayonetta I loved that much I completed it with one week of release.

What I do now for the games which I know will take me time to get round to playing. I wait for them to go on the cheap and buy them in bulk if I find an online discount code floating around from whichever retailer.

I'm in a big retro gaming phase so the answer to your question is no. However I'm in a similar boat for a different reason, I just don't have the time right now to play the stuff I've bought!

I've got Borderlands, Batman and Dragon Age which I've started but not completed. Borderlands, I must confess, did nothing for me. I must try and play it with my bro and bro in law which is challenging as they work shifts.

Batman I've barely played, so gets left at the bottom of the pile for a rainy day.

Got so far into DA and then having a newborn got the better of me. Must go back and complete because I got DA2 for my birthday.

Mirrors Edge is utter trash.

Agreed. Didn't like the controls at all.

As for the OP's question I've still got Eternal Sonata and the first PS3 Ratchet and Clank sitting untouched on my shelf.

Currenlt playing God of War 2 though and I've vowed not to get any new games until I complete the ones I've got just now.

Several games in there that are really good. In the first few weeks it came out and had a great online presence I would have said that Everybody's Golf is my favourite game I've played this generation (along with Uncharted 1&2, Guitar Hero 3 and Mass Effect 1&2).
