For £1449 delivered. Worth it ??

At the moment ive got a dell 15.6in screen i7 720 with 320gb 5400rpm drive+ newly upgraded gskill 8gb ram, yet still slow when converting video formats(wv-avi) and other stuff.
So I'm looking for new faster laptop or fast small desktop setup to go next to couch i living room.

Note,
I dont play games on it.

Thats a great price for the laptop but why spend that much if you dont game?
You can get a much cheaper SB laptop with better battery and more portable for much less

True guys.

What can you recommend?

I would like atleast
1x sd/hd 500gb xt highbrid and 8gb ram,
17 in screen and backlit keyboard,
hdmi output that actually works (unlike my dells hdmi output),
usb 3

Also,
Is it possible to have a fast, quite and cool running mini tower setup?

its far cheaper to try to put together a small desktop setup for what your needing. you could get a 6 core phenom 2 for cheap plus a m-atx board, graphics could be integrated and away you go. probably costs you under £500 instead of buying a laptop, also laptop cpu's aren't as fast as desktop. i mean if you had a 2ghz mobile cpu and a 2ghz desktop cpu, the desktop generally is faster as it doesnt require as much power saving.

I have an ITX lan rig which consists of:

SG05 ITX case (tiny, easy to work on and quiet)
Foxconn H67S SB ITX motherboard
Intel 2400 quad core SB CPU
ATI 5850 (OCUK special offer £107 card)
120gb SSD
4gb ram

The system cost me less than £500, quiet enough to leave it on a desk beside me and powerful enough to encode movies in no time or play some hardcore games.
You could build something similar and drop the GPU if you dont game
