Hello again, friends.
It's pretty much Summer now, and what's better to listen to on a nice sunny day in the garden than some of the old 80's music.

If I'm honest, i'm pretty bored with todays top 40 POP tunes, with the voice editing and what not.
Therefore I thought i'd get a good thread going ready for the summer. I didn't live in the 80's but by god do I live the music, and for the people on here that did live through the 80's... I wish I was you.

Here's some of the ones I've came to love quite a lot, but I'd really like to discover loads more, so lets get something going shall we ;)

Feel free to make comments on the ones above, like I say I really want to discover more, and if you have any 80's stories, please share!

Quite a few suggestions in here which might be along the lines of what you want. I'd never seen the video for Living In A Box before, much as I like most of the big hits from the 80s that one just tends to be a bit irritating after a short while.

Nik Kershaw - The riddle

what a song, heard this before but could never remember the name!
Here's a classic, well heard of song...

We need more posts, I thought this thread would have loads by now from people who also like the 80's :D

Japan - ghosts

I think the only reason I like this is because of the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 played, prolly warmest synth ever made .. nice tune though i guess.

The era that saw the rise of metal > *

Metallica
Iron Maiden
Megadeath

But also

Dio
Whitesnake (oh, yeah)
living Colour...

When I think of 80s music I don't tend to think of metal (Metallica, Megadeth etc.) despite the fact that it was mostly what I listened to from '86ish onwards, weird. I tend to think of new romantic, electronic, goth and indie stuff instead.

Yes that is Clint Mansell

I know Huey Lewis is the odd one out here but I love BTTF so much that I can't not put it here :)

<3 the 80's, even though I was born in 87 ... does that still qualify me as an 80's kid ? :p
