hi guys really unsure of which one to go for atm im 99% certain i want a h70 as it will keep things tidy and look nice in my case being black not keen on the colour of noctua fans etc.

Also been looking at the h60 which looks like its easier to fit but is this just a h50 with different waterblock/pump? Much performance difference?

As for the noctua most if not all the reviews say it will out perform the h70 i will prob run stock (3.2ghz 955 BE CPU) as this seems enough to run most games etc but if i do consider overclocking it would be nice to know i have a decent cooler that will perform well.

Thanks and i hope you guys can help please give me your honest opinions my case is a coolermaster elite 430 was the only thing i could afford at the time and will be upgrading soon.

;)

the noctua is arguably one of the best air coolers available, it'll outperform most cooling short of high end custom water set-up's, might not fit inside your case though ( also you can change the fans on the noctua for pretty much any 120mm you can buy ;)

so what would you choose?

Noctua all the way, yes it's expensive, yes it's huge, but yes it's awesome, yes you can have dead silent fans on it, and IMO it looks better then some cheap black plastic watering loop lol

in a way your right i have a black colour scheme in my case atm which fans would you reccomend on the noctua then dont really want to spend anymore than £80 spent too much as it is :p

i dont recommend fans, sorry it's getting late and i'm prattling about lol fans are a personal choice i think, are you after silence? or just raw power? or a mixture of both?

I have an NH-D14, a H50 and a H70. I would say that the NH-D14 is the best performer, just edges the H70 (not by much) and beats the H50 (this has been reviewed all over the web).

The Corsair units look the best in the case I think. The NH-D14 is effective, but huge and sometimes obtrusive. Quality on all units is very good, though the Noctua always tends to be a cut above :)

The H50 is nicer in the case and easier to deal with as it's nice and thin, but the H70 has a nicer looking pump and better hoses for positioning with the least stress.

I think you should just choose the one you like the most as they both have their good and bad points. The Noctua I would expect to be the favourite here, and I have to say it's probably my favourite for performance. If you have a side window and want to have a nice tidy good looking rig, the H70 is better. E.g. take a look at EVH's Fractal build in the new pcs gallery. The H70 looks sweet in that.

great info cheers and yes i do have a side window im worried a massive air cooler will cover eveything up and make it looks too crowded in the case :/

I've used Noctua and Yate Loon fans. The Noctuas are better in pretty much every respect, you want to keep them really. There's not much that would be a decent replacement to be honest, their fans are really very good. I know the colour isn't always to taste, but it's not what Noctua are all about, and it's good brand differentiation.

its still very tempting but like you mentioned the h70 would still look better in my case and save a bit of space
