General consensus on Mass Effect games (spoilers within)

I saved the Rachni, reprogrammed the Geth, and blew up the ship.

Cerberus can do one, I plan to have the backing of 2 alien races in ME3 :D

I'm just wondering if they're going to completely pass over 2 of the biggest plot developments from the game. Saving the Collector base, giving you access to more advanced tech, and converting the Geth should have a massive effect on how things turn out in ME3.

That is really what i am starting to worry about. I never listen to any naysayers before a game is realeased. No rumours or anything, i like to play it in a postive frame of mind so that i can just enjoy it, but with ME3, i really can't see how it can come to a satisfactory conclusion given all of the decisions and plot points that would have to be factored in to the final installment.

Miranda supporting you does make a lot more sense if she is your romantic interest. And completing her loyalty mission makes her completely loyal to you as well. Plus, you are meant to be like a great leader who inspires your crew so it isn't really that much of a leap for me tbh.

There is 1 thing i really want to know about ME3.

Is it possible to fail if you made all the wrong decisions and for the Reapers to wipe out everything again? Somehow i think the only 2 outcomes will be, hurray, you saved the galaxy and humanity is the dominant species vs hurray, you saved the galaxy and humanity is hailed as a saviour by everyone.

Possibly with a 'Recap' style video at the end like from Fallout 3 that basically lists everything you did with no context.

Well, it's possible in ME2 so I don't see why not.

I thought it only let you start the Suicide Mission when you had enough crew members to get through it? I may be wrong but you can DIE on the suicide mission but you can't FAIL, you can't start it without enough members to make it to the end of it but you might die trying to escape.

Quite possibly the most mind numbingly dull franchise ever

My idea of fun is not sitting through countless dull and pointless conversations which ultimately have zero effect on how the main story unfolds.

The person who skips through every single conversation will experience more or less the same main story as someone who sits through every single conversation, they have no effect on how the games main story unfolds and ends.

It's all horrifically dull tbh, just like all RPGs

Don't even get me started on the half arsed side missions, lame combat and unbelievably poor AI

Most overhyped gaming franchise of this generation.

Weak

If you fail to complete Arrival within the time (1 1/2 hours IIRC) a cutscene will be triggered which shows flashes of the Reapers' destruction of the galaxy.

Yeah that's what i am fearing. Like the first game, they seem like big decisions when you are making them but playing the second game, they make very little difference tbh

Wow, i didn't know that. Might load up a late game and try that out

I love them both. Miss the RPG elements in the second, hate the planet scanning in the second but got bored of the planet roaming in the first. I just wish ME could have ME2's graphics :D

Shush. Shouldn't you be playing CoD?

I'm guessing you formed this opinion based on watching a few clips on youtube.

Yes the AI is unbelievably poor but if you'd played the game you'd know it doesn't detract from the experience.

Is ME1 really that much better than 2? I borrowed 1 of a friend of xbox and barely touched it.
Last few weeks I have been hooked on ME2 and have almost completed it. Is it worth me going back to play 1?

I do enjoy 2 but am a bit over whelmed at trying to remember what crew to take for what purpose and what is better against what armour etc..

ME1 is better in my opinion, although the inventory system is very, very frustrating. You pick up an insane amount of stuff and have to sift through it every time you want to pick an item/change ammo etc etc.

There's unlimited ammunition as well, none of this reloaded weirdness they have in ME2

ah yes look what we have here, the classic nerd reflex towards someone not liking a certain game which they consider to be "high brow"

"IF YOU DON'T LIKE RPG WID BIG STORY AND TINGS YOU MUST PLAY COD, ONLY BIG GROWN UP PLAY RPG, YOU LITTLE KID WHO PLAY COD"

amazing

Yes defo a very good game, i got it for a fiver a while back and couldn't get into it.One day when i was bored i played it for a couple hours and from then on was hooked.

I loved both, but me2 was almost too different a game to me1. The story plot was excellent but the story was extremely badly told. I mean, Shepard comes back from the dead. He finds his team of ultimate sidekicks and then he's off to stick it to the reapers and their collector minions....epic story but the reality is you spend probably 75% of the game killing your new crew-mate's emotional demons and settling their scores in side missions and 25% of it actually playing through the story. it was crap. I still loved the game but the story was a massive let down after playing me1.

everything else has been said before-

me1 is the rpg and me2 is the console shooter.
me1 had mostly pointless planet exploring in the mako with side missions where every enemy base was basically 1 of 4 different designs. me2 had the tedious planet scanning.

me3 had better be a mix of the two and not even further removed from me1 as recently rumored.

Comically you don't appear to like conversations, or story. What's left? FPS!
So this makes me ask a question, why play an RPG? Even one as watered down & actiony as ME2 is?

Your post came across as one of a kiddie, so that's how I treated you ;)
I'm yet to be proved wrong.
