Evening all!

Around August time i'm looking at taking the mrs away for a couple of romantic nights :o !

I am looking to spend around £300ish a night.

A friend reccomended this to us: The Witchery, it looks perfect, the only downside is we would be coming from near Oxford area, so although we could fly/take the train would it would just be a PITA! The upside to the location is that its right next to the castle/beautiful city so lots to do!

I am not ruling it out, as it looks lovely. I'd just like some more ideas of similar things to do, just further south, possibly no further north than yorkshire? I've seen a few in the cotswolds that look nice.

Thanks in advance!

Might not be what you're looking for since it's central london, but I stayed in The berkeley in London with my girlfriend. Really enjoyed it and obviously there was plenty to do! :)

I've always liked the look of this place, I saw it posted here a while back and thought it looked lovely. It's near Ironbridge so I'm not sure how much there is to do there but still

Here

Pffft. Why spend so much? Just have a quickie in the carpark behind your local McDonalds and then spend the £300 on cheeseburgers.

Seemples! :D

I'll have just got back from Afghanistan, then i'm pretty much leaving again for 4 months... :(.... she deserves to be treated for at least on night :p

We've been to london loads, I'm not really a fan of it anymore :p

I'd say Room 10!

also: Black Card membership gives you the reduced rates and only costs £50.

That looks amazing .

I thought you were taking the **** when I read crazy bear group :p

Crazy bear is nice, go there a lot. Can recommend it.

Really? Could you give me a mini review on it, your thoughts etc? Whats there to do in the local area, is it more for one night than a two night stay?

I am referring to the stadhampton branch, we are local to it and use the pub/restaurant a lot. The rooms are crazy but perfect for this kind of thing, they are also a lot cheaper than you are wanting.

Bar wise, put it this way my SL fits right in in the carpark. Its shabby chic, very much to our taste. Decent menus available, good wine/cocktail menu.

Local area....i just noticed that you are from oxford...that is the local area :D

Yea there's two, Beaconsfield (Bucks) and Stadhampton. I'm pretty sure the Stadhampton one didn't exist when I last looked at this place though!

I'm from yorkshire, shes the down south one :p

I think we would be going to Beaconsfield! Whats there to do around there? Any nice walks etc? I wouldn't mind being able to have a drink then go somewhere, so I don't have to drive.
