Some people have leaked the whole story for mw3 and some details about setting and multiplayer + first pics.
Kotaku has blown Modern Warfare 3 wide open, verifying game details, gathering screenshots and reposting the entire story online.

The multi-source-based report confirms the 8th November release date that Eurogamer revealed on Monday.

The new game will be known as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It is a collaboration between Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software.

BIG SPOILERS so you have been warned!:

+8th of November release date confirmed.

Don't think activision are gonna be happy about this one! Could it have been angry ex infinity ward employees?

You think it was deliberate? Why would activision announce the game this way? Why would they want to give the whole story away?

There's a very slim chance that this is epic misdirection by activision, but I think not.

Agreed.

I dont think it'll really hurt them though. COD isnt necessarily the most story driven experience out there, so it may simply serve as a list of 'things to look forward to' more than anything else..

In before the "OMG ANOTHER COD GAME LETS BOYCOTT THAT GARBAGE" etcetcetc brigade....

On a serious note, the storyline, if true, could have some seriously good levels on it with building and street fighting levels like on MW1 single player. I just hope the PC users get dedicated servers and some fancy new graphical effects to keep things fresh in what is becomming a stagnant genre.

They need to deliver, and deliver BIG, or the series will continue its massive decline.

To be fair, if your PC runs black ops properly, its actually a good game. Vastly better than MW2 due to dedicated servers alone and pre DLC a good mix of levels which also force a lot of snipers to move often compared to MW2 where you could spend an entire game in 1 spot easily on most levels.

Single player on black ops was also better than most of MW2 and slightly longer also. I want this new game to have the single player length and scale of BFBC2 (which was a very pleasant surprise tbh) with the multiplayer longevity of MW1.

Watching the video on Kotaku, i've got to say that i'm actually impressed. Hopefully they'll go back to COD4 roots and make the storyline half decent with memorable levels. Not holding my hopes up though, 3 teams working on this together.

Looking at the screens it looks to be more of the same GFX wise which is not a good thing, expecting another recycled cash cow release. As for going back to COD roots, no chance IMO, look how much OPS has sold, activision is not going to rock the boat.

Daymmmn. Huge leak. I didn't read it except for the locations, don't want to ruin it for myself.

I really hope that isn't the case. :(

Either way, this will be lapped up by 13 year old children around the world regardless if it has a story or not. Sad tbh.

Activision will not be happy about this leaking so early!!! But its such a cash cow for them they are just going to milk it until gamers stop buying the 5 year old sub HD game engine rehash every year now..............

The sad thing is it actually sounds like you were expecting something different...
