Sgs 2 if your budget will stretch to it, but out of the three mentioned in the op sgs without question.

But I just had a look and the Desire S is available on the same deal. is the desire S a lot better/different to the desire
I can see the reasons behind getting the SGS II But I honestly dont believe I need the most cutting edge phone hardware. I basically just use email, txt and browse internet. and I just want that to be slick .
SGS II is only £7 a month more I know that but that does equal £168 over the contract term.

I've currently got a desire, SGS and 3GS.
the SGS's screen really is fantastic, after using it for a while and using one of the other phones colours just seem dull. Its seems reasonable well built and is very light and I can get 28Hrs out of the battery. Its not as easy as the desire when it comes to getting custom roms on there (darky,cynogenmod).
The desire is also a great phone seem better quality in terms of feal to the SGS, the screen on mine is an amoled so its still better than the 3GS's. much easier to swap between custom roms.
The 3GS is great in terms of apps especially for gaming. the screen if ok but not as good as the SGS. After using an andriod phone and going back to the 3GS everything just feels so sluggish, an iphone 4 would probably sort this out a little. It's a bit slicker when it comes to being able to just click on a phone number in an email to call it.
Overall out of the 3 i would put the SGS first followed by the desire and lastly the 3GS.
If your interested the SGS also has the lowest SAR rating out of all three of them.
Did someone mention the three network in the thread...? cant find it now.
I move from O2 to three and have not looked back. Three's signal inside building's is a little poorer, but there internet speeds are really impressive against O2's.
