Was a passenger in one of these at a Porsche event last year, fantastic things, really comfy, was only the 3.6 one but it didn't half shift, best thing about it though was as DM said the interior, absolutely top notch and put together properly!

Its the best Porsche interior ever i think without a doubt. Very very low though, same as a 997 thats the only thing that i can see putting me off liking this in the long run, i just cant be arsed climbing out of cars any more or folding myself in them i just want to step in and out these days.

Agree with you on that definitely, although I probably have a bit more limited experience than yourself. My mum is trying to persuade my Dad to get one instead of a 997, as their main car. It is low, but I wouldn't say it is so bad for climbing in and out of. Just push the seat up when you get out, thats what the electrics are for right?

Yea i know, and i still got a few years before the walking stick like your dad im sure, but you just cant beat those Bentley seats for getting in and out.

Anyway im not going to start moaning before i got it even im just saying i already know thats going to be my gripe before i start :)

Good room in the back of them Pans mind, very good.

Its funny i always thought the 996's were a handsome car too, a lot of people didnt like the headlights, i never had a problem with them.

The headlights do seem too upright, I prefer those on the 993. But the back of the 996 is pure win. I just find that car awesome, it has presence and it certainly going to get a second look by others, unlike the 997 *vw beetle*

Its not that the 996 headlights are upright that no one liked, its the bit that spreads over the bonnet a bit like a fried egg :)

993 were the best lookers all round especially the wide body ones, and the 997 sort of went back to that a bit, i dunno everyones different you like what you like :)

In pictures they don't look great but in real life it's a great looking car.

I have to agree with this. In the flesh they are growing on me more and more. Nice car Mark - yours is probably the best I've seen in photos and a colour and spec I'd love, not that I could afford one just yet mind.

Be interested to see what you think of the PDK. My old Porsche with Tiptronic was fine in auto mode so didn't bother me but most didn't like the 'manual' changing with the buttons. Presume you've had a tip porker so you're in a good position to compare it to PDK, which I assume is infitnitely better.

I'l never use that PDK thing or that stop the engine and start it again in traffic ****, auto and leave it alone for me.

If the day comes when i cant burn a chav off from the lights without resorting to buttons to change gear im gonna gracefully admit defeat :D

Dark colours help i think, the silver one i borrowed before didnt look to clever.

Anyway they look superb inside and thats the bit i see :)

Is that the exact one ?

If so thats a remarkably quick turnaround. You went from putting a deposit down to having it on your drive ready to take photos in an hour :p

Very nice, bet you'll love it. Never driven one but been a passenger, such an epic car and you can really feel the power at times. Wish I was rich :( soon come...

My first venture into Porsche may well be a 996 in one form or another, just need to convince the Mrs it is not a mid life crisis :D

Spend the bit extra for a 997, the way the prices are going now its just not worth spending what you need to spend to get a decent 996, wheres Housey he will say the same.

Somebody with no taste went crazy on the options list ? :D

I went on the porsche 911 configurator site and the amount of stuff you can change the material and colour of is bewildering. If you really want you can make your car totally unique, right out of the brochure.
